Interesting stuff here. A new particle accelerator at CERN has a few folks debating what might happen once it's opened.

Pretty amazing (at least to me). Check out the story. Anyone worried?

I found the "10 way to detroy the earth" article on there interesting too.

A good thing about a balck hole is that it can easily cause an open vaccume, with which we have the postential to power an entire country. Good bye using natural resources!

Frankly I find all this stuff creepy.

^ LOL. I just had to delete my sentence. You beat me to it.

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

Very interesting. You guys wanna get creeped out? Quantum Physics will blow your freeeeging miiind, maaan!

If it goes faster then the speed of light then it goes past the speed of light...

Pray to GOD for him to reveal himself to you.

Yeah that stuff im really interested in...but personaly I think it either wont work or it does but no harm will be done

I made a black hole this morning with a rock, a stick, and a tube of toothpaste.

I love my randylion

Just to let u know that the black hole they are planning to make
is very small (subatomic) about the size of a particle (proton to be exact).

They plan to collide protons into each other at or near the speed
of light increasing the gravity to rip a hole in space.

They say its safe due to the fact that its an normal occurrence in space.

Sounds cool to me.

Its suppose to happen in 2007 sometime.

Yeah so there is pretty much nothin to worry about, except these things that could start when the black hole start, they are called stranglets and they have the potential to pretty much destroy the world because they will keep multiplying until everything is gone

Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 4:22:45 PM

Its all theoretical...

Pray to GOD for him to reveal himself to you.

Oogi how do you make a black hole with a stick, a rock, and a toobe of toothpaste?

yes im a girl and yes this is my anime crush

He was joking..

Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 6:15:39 PM

^ even if a stranglet does form, it is very unlikley that it will indeed even be stable for more than a second. It is near impossible to make a stable stranglet.

Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.

Heavy ion collisions occur naturally.

Cosmic rays smash into heavy nuclei on the Moon ferquently
Yet the Moon has existed for five billion years without being
eaten by a multiplying strangelet.

Hell, the sun produces enough danger to us daily with all the
antimatter it spews out.

I am sure our us government would step in if they thought it
would destroy us all ;)

LOL

Sure they would, Vash...

Those Swiss guys have such a reputation for taking sides, y'know. They have quite a stranglehold on the world chocolate market, too. Maybe we should get 'em before the price of truffles goes up too high. And I'm not even going to get started with the French side of CERN... ;)

I found a good piece about strange matter at Wikipedia . I hadn't really heard much about strangelets before. I better get back to work before I get caught up in this world of quarks...

[disclaimer]The comments about Swiss and French and CERN are intended as satire... If you don't understand that already.[/disclaimer]

A bit off topic but if you want to read about end of world type cenarios try this site http://www.exitmundi.nl/exitmundi.htm

Thats all jokes and stuff...but some are reasonable :)

Damn those swiss.

Does bush know about the swiss monopoly
on the world chocolate market?

In theory, they are making a possible WMD.

;)

It's a conspiracy Vash. They're to blame for the supermassive American middle-age male!

Quick, send in the Rangers... Get some recon done. We need more info. Maybe we should find their stockpiles and eliminate them...

Here's a comment from the Pres himself...
