Check out the Skinners Resource thread. The best way to learn to skin is to just start messing around with your software to get used to it. Download a tutorial for when you get stuck. You have an excellent advantage with your Mom being a graphic artist, I'm sure she could be your biggest help.

Ok, I want to try out some skinning. This is a first time for me. My moms a Graphic artist and has a couple programs she uses that I think might work for me like Adobe Photoshop. I was just wondering a few things like whats the best program to use and is there a place that I can get the skinning templates
