Thats very odd,but I know there's something that I missed.

Aha! I showed my dad this and he told me he has seen it before, it is nothing but a trick. The diagnol cut in the rectangle is being overlapped so the the double layer equals a square. Very clever, I'm always impressed by what asians do.
