And now kids are getting some of the most pathetic forms of punishment ever! When I was young, talking back to your parents meant a good whipping in the arse with a hard object, like a piece of wood or belt. Now I see parents just punishing their kids by taking away their PS2 for a week. Oh wow. Kids will surely learn their lessons without having games for a week. Eventually you'll give them back those games, and then they'll start talking back to you or disobeying you again. I believe it is time for all you lucky kids to get a good ol' fashion whipping today! XD I'm not a tyrant, but kids these days seem to not know when their parents mean no, and continue to use and boss around their own parents when the kids have such small punishments for all of their demeanors.

So to all you parents out their in the TT community, how do you punish your kids?

And the kids of the TT community, how did or do your parents punish you?

I believe the age of "the smack on the arse for every backsass" is in order. :P

@JamesBomb
hehe soon your child may catch on, and may begin to consider the bathroom as an oppurtunity, rather than a punishment... Sometimes kids may be trickier than we thought, with their growing imaginations and cleverness...hehe just don't use the bathroom too often as a punishment. I've known kids who were able to still have fun while in the corner :)

Nah, if he uses the potty, he gets some Gummy Bears. Right now, we're even using that as a way to reduce the "sentence." True though, he doesn't "hang out" in the bathroom.

Ahhhhhh......the good old puniskment thread, been waiting along time for this. Heres my story.

So one day I was helping cook dinner with my mom. We were making Cheese Fondu. So, I was making the fondu, and then I get out a spoon to taste it. Then, my mom screams saying "Do not test the cheese fondu, young man, or im going to send u too ur room. Being the Smart Alec I am, I get a spoonful of fondu and fling it right at her face. She was screaming for 45 seconds b4 I tried to help her, and she was faking being nice. After I helped her up, she takes me by the shoulders and pushes me into the basement and locks the door on me. So, I say to myself, "as long as I have light, I will be fine. Then, my mom decides to turn off all the power in the basement. So, she leaves me there for 24 hours. After I went up the stairs, she brings out dads leather belt, and whips me right on the ass. After she had whipped me about ten times, I run away up to my bedroom and hold the door shut. I was in there for 2 hours before I came out. Then, I was grounded for 3 months.

You have a strange idea of funny, young man. :S

(Attention all units... Keep an eye out for a General with a spoonful of cheese. He's considered armed and dangerous...)

You don't like her telling you what to do, so you fling hot cheese at her? Not cool. You got off easy.

I can honestly say that I have never had cheese fondu for dinner.

Wednesday, May 03, 2006 at 5:17:12 PM

I can also honestly say I would never try to fling cheese at my mom. SHe is the holder of all things good and fun :S
Besides, If I wanted to make her mad or be a samrt ***, I would just annoy her by annoying my sister :P

Well, AO does have a point about today's kids not getting punished enough tho, even I have to admit it. Taking a PS2 away just seems to work, but doesnt. Everytime I ask my mom why she doesn't spank it is always the same old same old, "I don't believe in hurting my kids to learn discipline." Getting something electronic taken away from me doesn't affect me as much as I tell ppl. I wouldn't say I am an angel, trust me im not, but I do have a certain point at which I even think is too far.

OK, I think the General's mom went too far, but then he was a jerk for flinging hot, melted cheese onto his mother's face. Overall, its seems like they're both jacked up since he's not showing a lot of remorse and she's over the top. So they both need counseling.

Then the BS sensor goes off. So this was two days ago? So it all came down on Monday, which means you missed school on Tuesday. Did anyone notice? Frankly, if your mom was that angry I'd think she'd want you in school and out of the house. And you were grounded for 3 months? Guess we'll know for sure in mid August.

Well General

First of all, it is your fault for one thing for throwing cheeese in her face. In Vietnam, children would never disrespect their parents in a such a manner. I understand her grounding you, but whipping you and throwing into a dark basement just for that? That is too far even in my opinion. You and your mom may need counseling to learn what is wrong with the two of you.

^ and ^^ are wise.

Something isn't right about the whole thing. Either the level of disrespect is so high that abuse (in both directions) is commonplace, or this whole thing is a crock.

I can't imagine ever doing that to my parents, and I'm certain there a very few kids who would do such a thing. (even in today's kids)

I also can't imagine locking my kid in a dark basement. Ever.

Thursday, May 04, 2006 at 9:17:55 PM

The worst I have done is just make my mom mad by not obeying her. She would threaten to take all the electronics for a month and spank me in public. I can't ever imagine throwing hot cheese at her and actually feel triumphant about it. Vig, ever heard of "respect your elders" ? I am sure AO has lol.

There must be something wrong with that story Vig, I mean it sounds to full of misabuse from the both of you. Not our place to jump in your life.
