Page : <1> :

I was thinking a team of TTer, under the blessing of BraveTree, could put together a package (Unofficial TT 1.2?) containing several new features developed by the community, like:

- ModPack with 20+, 30+ (?) of the new maps
- A collection of scripts (Ignore Script, Observer Script, Admin Script, Timer Script, Anti-Dive Sluggy Script, Chat Script (for team chat/private chat), etc.)
- New radars (2x? 3x?), sounds, etc.
- Several of the best Tank Skins (20?)
- Hotkeys Presets
- etc. As others suggest...

Basically it would be a collage of the community's last year work. It could be assembled by a project director, compressed into.zip or.sit or.whatever, and downloadable from several sources (I can help with one download server from my.com)

This package would be free, of course, and would come with a Read Me file containing detailed instructions for Mac/PC installation on how to customize your TT experience.

This new version would thus upgrade everyone to a same level of TT experience. By combining all the features in one package we'd save on the patchwork of threads to be read and features to be hunted.

Hey HB. Great idea. There really has been quite a few significant contributions. Something like this would allow new players to quickly jump in to a significantly enhanced experience.

Seeing as it's almost Valentine's Day, that would be...

Sweeeet!!!

That would be REALLY good for all the beginners of TT.

Wouldn't be too difficult - only to compile a few files.

I would also add: setting up hotkey presets.

Would enjoy seeing some upgrades to PTT along with the Mod Pack that you suggest, though I fade.

Site architects like RX and forum maintenance experts, I think, could make a great difference. Now that -z- moved off, oh well.

Only a General Forum and League Forum. (Daily post limit, maybe, for the sake of the moderators...)

Then also, there really should be the Stinker Forum for the liberals. You must recite "Bush is a Moron" 300 times and then make application to move to Canada, no matter which part of the world you're from.

Also, a Norky Forum for the conservatives, which auto-bans anyone who has recited the 300 chants and made application...

Also possibly add most of the good tank skins in one bundle.

Yes, but keep this in mind!

There are three different admin scripts running around.
There are several observer scripts running around.
Tank skins are subjective; there are 3 tanks which would bloat the mod pack to include all skins for all tanks.
Radar skin, and radar size is also subjective.

Please don't take this negatively but I feel maybe there should be a commonplace in which the files are readily available with current detailed instructions.
I don't believe doing everything for everybody is the best way to go. There is something to be said for people learning how things function, where things are located and what effect their changes make. I don't believe in keeping people stupid by doing things for them.

I think if knowledge was shared, and complete instructions were given, the players would appreciate the game and the efforts of the improvers quite a bit more. It would also get them more in-tune with the game.

But that's just my opinion.

There are Monkeeman's version and dash's version. I'm gonna use dash's version after he'll release it to all.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

I'm using Monkeeman's and have had no problems with it.

Sure! This is indeed missing. The way the PTT forums are stuctured have the files scattered all over. A central point with permanent DL would be neat.

^^ It dosen't work... Right.

Maybe also add ModWizard...

Monday, February 14, 2005 at 4:15:26 PM
