Your server is great! SUPER low ping! The only thing I ask of you is to install the Dash admin script.

I saw the website and all the servers the company hosts, and I see they can host any game, even if is not on the list? Is this true?

Thanks.

@Racer, why? So ADMINS can control who is allowed to play or not???????because of bad admins shockwave dont have the admin scripts......and I dotn know if any parents here are aware of this but I got news for you,,YOUR KIDS HAVE BETTER CHANCES OF LEARNING CURSE WORDS AT SCHOOL THAN THINK TANKS..THEY MIGHT ALREADY BE CURSING THAT YOU ARENT AWARE OF..WHY? EITHER UR NOT A GOOD PARENT, OR YOUR KID IS SMARTER THEN YOU...LEARN TO FACE THE TRUTH..AND STOP CRYING ABOUT ADMIN SCRIPTS....be logical...i've seen kids when they come over to our campuses for summer programs, I've heard their foul mouths..where do u think they learn from? I can guarantee its not TT..

LOOK AT IT FROM LOGICAL POV...USUALLY PEOPLE GET MAD CUZ OF THEIR PING, LAG...TODAY I PLAYED AND SINCE PING WAS SO LOW FOR EVERYONE , NO ONE EVEN TALKED MUCH...LOW PING ELIMINATES THE CHANCES OF PEOPLE CHATTING TOO MUCH.. CUZ THEY WANNA PLAY....

Down with Admins up with UP with Players

Friday, October 28, 2005 at 11:31:54 PM

^ and ^^ It seems to me that you are missing an important point. The purpose of having Admins is not to prevent "kids" from learning cuss words; it is to protect everyone who plays from being subjected to abuse, regardless of their age or their level of skill. Good Admins don't in any way interfere with play, they simply enforce fundamental rules of courtesy and civility...And if you don't think that is a necessary and valuable service in this realm, then you haven't been paying attention.

Playing in a mod that someone has taken the time to create, or a server that someone else is hosting, is very much like visiting that person's home. When you are a guest in someone's home there are basic expectations of courtesy. People respect and appreciate polite, well mannered guests. Impolite, ill-mannered and abusive guests should not be surprised when they are asked to leave...and are not invited back. Playing is a privilege, not a right. Being treated with decency, in an environment free of abuse, is something to which all are entitled. That's why Admins are necessary.

Up with Admins, and Up with common courtesy, civility and good sportsmanship.

^ Nicely stated and with good grammar, punctuation and spelling.

@Racer
It's a free test server. Someone would have to pay money to get full control of the server.

Gotta say, this server is a TT wet dream come true. It tops my list at 18 ms. Very, very smooth. Things are definitely looking up for us Easterners. A big thank you to NUTS!? I'm ready to contribute.

Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 12:42:04 AM

Ah ok. I thought someone bought full control of it.

Yes I had asked Fatpipes to put up a server for us to check it out. They are seeing how much bandwidtth and cpu the game usses. When they get back with prices I will let you all know.

I'm on the west coast, and it was pretty smooth for a while, then started showing up in the yellow part of the server list. It was still pretty easily playable then, though. I believe some of our European friends were in when the ping went up. Good server.

@ Nyar- very well said. B)

I ping 110 there! The lowest ping American Server Ive had

The ping was not bad for me, but I noticed a low but constant level of jitter. Could that be cpu lag?

Yeah possibly, I had it too. It shows up as 18 ping for me yet it was jittrery. Wonder if it may be because its runing on Windows? Not trying to start win vs everyone else but I know I can tell a difference when I host with Windows vs Linux. Same machie just hard drive are different. I know Roo's server runs on win and thats ok, maybe it would be better on linux? XD

I dont think that fatpipes server should be taken over by admins like all other private servers. It is my only chance to play team scrum with other people, seeing as I am banned from all other private servers out there. It should remain as it is; a server that resembles a public one in the way that all are allowed to join it, but has a great game of team scrum going on almost 24/7.

I love my randylion

FYI
That server is a test to see how much CPU and bandwidth TT uses. Then they will give a price for how much they will need to host it. If you want a server without admin codes then you could always rent one. It would be your server so you could run it any way you want. Not sure how long they plan on leaving it up.

Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 7:58:30 PM

Hey if your banned thats because you have done something wrong which isnt the admins fault

MJ

I tried out that server on Friday. It was a very low ping for me. However, I too experienced the "jittery" feel while driving around and I was the only one in the game. I just tried it again with the same result. The tank seemed to drive okay but every couple of seconds, it would jerk slightly.

@NUTS!
Maybe you could schedule a time for a group of testers to meet and play a few games. Give Fatpipes an idea what a full TT server looks like. If they are monitoring the network traffic as well as CPU then get players from both coasts and maybe a European volunteer or two to participate.

Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 10:43:36 PM

Yeah Its because of a slow processor which is a shame since the ping is very low

Slow processor? The server list says it's 3050MHz

Shockwave servers are 2400MHz

On the West Coast, I'm pinging SW at 30-42 ms and the fatpipes server at 72 ms

I did notice that jumpy lag in fatpipes too. Nobody in there right now.

Its Definatly not the connection, It has to be something with the Computer. Virus? Spyware?

Well probily, the only reson you dont want Admins there to renforce the sever si because you have done naughty things and they will ban you. Eh? That why? XD

Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 11:58:47 PM

Lets put together a linux server that does nothing else but host tt?
