Some of you may have noticed that I am not around TT as much as I was at one point. I have a discovered a new game.....America's Army. Complete with training missions, plane jumps, and full online play. Hehehehe.
This little puppy is the most realistic army game I have ever played. The best part is...IT'S FREE. Just go to their website and download the full version. All they need is your e-mail address.

You get what you pay for. (I'm back again! Forums, anyway)

It isn't that great of an online game. Far Cry and Half Life 2 are better. :)

Sunday, March 20, 2005 at 11:24:52 PM

^Agreed

I went on-line and owned without training.(cheated the traiing)((oh, I had to look up the controls though, it seems like you need a different button to pull the triiger, then release it : / )

Awesome. I don't care what you think. Have you seen the missions like bridge crossing and pipeline. It's like BAM baby.

Monday, March 21, 2005 at 3:21:30 AM

Oh! And the the game has spyware which allows the government to see what y'all do in there, so don't do anything stupid.

Monday, March 21, 2005 at 3:22:56 AM

Eagle don't scare him away.

Pray to GOD for him to reveal himself to you.

Hear hear...though I'm more partial to Half-Life 2. :)

I tried America's Army and I didn't like it - why make a game so realistic that you have to "fix" your gun from time to time? I don't get it...it's both unrealistic - you can take about 15 bullets from an enemy's AK-47 - and realistic - your gun breaks and you have to waste precious time fixing it in which you will probably get pwn3d. I think to make a game more fun, one would go for more unrealistic; doing the monotonous things that you have to do in real life like loading all the individual bullets into a machine gun is not really up on the fun factor. Plowing through 20 enemies with nary a scratch is fun because you know you can't do that in real life.

I guess we just have different prefrences Spunky. I like the realisticness (if that's a word) of the game. It's not like your gun is not going to sometimes jam. You'd have to fix it, in the meantime ducking under bullets and "nades".
Well at least we all like Think Tanks eh?

Minox: I got 2.1.0 also. I go by NEVA_DIE of course. Maybe I'll see you around.

Wait until you kids turn 18...the army has an "M-Rated" army game that's even better than this one. You get to ride on real boats and tanks and planes and, best of all, you get to shoot REAL people. They're mostly dark-skinned people...but it's still very fun. Practice, practice, practice.

Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 12:01:50 PM

^ Nice try, but you're too late...the government has already desensitized our minds to violence with saturday morning cartoons. Tom and Jerry, anyone?

Oh boy. The army employs another recruiting tool. Hope y'all are aware what your signing on for. I recall tons of phone calls from recruiters. Now it's probably spam once you download and give them your info.

C'mon, it is a marketing tool...

I just want them to be up front about why they do those things. I get it, and I bet you do too, but not everyone does.

Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 11:18:11 PM

@ LGM RE: "C'mon, it is a marketing tool..."

It probably also have spyware in game to keep track how well Big Brother propaganda is proliferating. Next version will have a big eyeball on the screen with little subliminal messages flashing the needed agenda. Have fun being a lab rat. 8o

Me love you all. :)

Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 3:55:11 AM

I don't trust anything that's "free". We're all being watched...all the time...there is no escape...we're all doomed. But, hey, the game sounds like fun.

Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 4:24:53 AM

I heard From a Freind that there is Cameras in Certain T.V.'s that the Government put there...Truth or not, I dunno
Good thing I dont own a T.V. Eh?

@Bertha

You can bet on the spyware. I wouldn't touch this software with a ten foot pole. Funny how easy it is to get people to download stuff...

Like I said before... Let's be careful out there!

You people are to paranoid. It is not like if you say "America Sucks" in a server the government will track you down and torture you....

Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 5:11:40 PM

If you're so sure of that, Michael, go try it. :P

Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 5:51:51 PM

Try what?

Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 6:29:47 PM

Go make a server...ahh, nevermind. The joke is ruined. :(

Paranoid has nothing to do with it. I just want kids to understand the source of the software, and what motivation they have for providing it.

Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 7:43:28 PM

Phew, I stopped the download when NEVA posted about the spyware.

DIE SPYWARE DIE AND BURRRNNN

Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 7:46:22 PM

Heh, I find this whole 'spyware' thing funny.

Has anyone actually installed it, and ran adaware, hijack this, spybot, or ms antispyware? I have with no malicious spyware to be found. (well, it didnt find any, but they flat out tell you it is there).

Also, has anyone looked into what information they actually do track? I am guessing it is IP, and servers....maybe some system info for future updates...

EDIT: Anyone have gamespy installed? Well guess what.... 8o

Me... Why...?

I'm guessing GameSPYWARE?

EDIT: LOL! I found out Gamespy Free is classified as adware because it displays ads in it's customized browser!

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is better. Completely free, none of that "spyware" stuff, and really fun. Macintosh, too. :)

Friday, March 25, 2005 at 5:00:26 AM

Thanks for the tip PIP... Me downloading it now. %)

Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 2:01:57 PM

Don't worry guys. I'll tell you when I get hauled off to jail. And besides, this game is totally different from TT. You don't have time to sit and have a conversation with someone or you will die...quickly. And if someone does sit around talk you can vote kick people. Type a name and hit F6 and there out of there if enough people vote to have him/her kicked. That's what TT needs.

Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 2:11:50 AM

Heh, you dont play many FPS's (or many other commercial games) do ya? :)

Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 2:30:54 AM

Four games I play:
America's Army
Think Tanks
Unreal Tournament 2K4
Lugaru: The Rabbit's Foot

Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 3:25:43 AM

UT 2k4? Whats your name?
I was just wondering if you played many other games because
1. TT is about the only game I have ever even tried to have a conversation with someone in.
2. You can vote kick/ban in most games that are out ATM.

Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 3:31:46 AM

I go by NEVA DIE everywhere. Any game I ever played.

Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 3:35:57 AM

Bridge Crossing is the best map by far. My friends and I were way ahead of the game on this one, I played for a few months last year, eventually got bored. That was back before there were like 5 billion people playing...sweet game though, especially for the price ;)

Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 3:59:02 AM

^ You're right on. Bridge Crossing is my favorite too. What's your name? I play at the server where you can use your own M4 mods. 8 People allowed. I'm there as often as I can be. I'll see you around.
