You should be typing cd ~/desktop/games/ThinkTanks/ etc. Is that what your code looks like? For me, it looks like this:

cd /Users/spunky/Desktop/ThinkTanks v1.1/ThinkTanks.app

If it doesn't look like that then you're doing something wrong.

OK... Spunky, while u are definetly getting sick of me, I am still confused. Here is exactly what my terminal shell says when I press enter the first time:

If you want the path syntax to any directory or folder, open the terminal type cd (and a space) and drag the folder into the terminla window. This will be the exact sytnax. No mistakes.

You have:

cd/Users/student/Desktop/my stuff/Shockwave.com ThinkTanks/ThinkTanks.app

You should have something like:

cd /Users/student/Desktop/my stuff/Shockwave.com ThinkTanks/ThinkTanks.app

Forgot the space again. O.o

BTW, I'm not getting sick of you at all. I don't mind helping people in need.

The topic wasn't finished; you still had problems making a dedicated server and I was involved in the topic so I decided that I was still going to help you. I can't help if I didn't reply for 6 days - I was traveling around France and Italy with no internet for 10 days. O.O I swear, I almost died. :[

Still can't get it... What folder am I supposed to be dragging in?

Not the folder! Here's how to find the OSX thingy.

Right click on your ThinkTanks application and select Show Package contents. Go to Contents>MacOS>ThinkTanks. That's what you want to drag into the terminal!

Ummm...are you sure Spunky? I always drag the folder that I renamed ThinkTanks (and that contains the ThinkTanks.app) onto the terminal window.

Sunday, April 03, 2005 at 11:03:44 AM

To start a dedicated server, I type:

./ThinkTanks.app/Contents/MacOS/ThinkTanks OSX -dedicated -mission game/data/missions/TT1_3.mis -Game B

That's where I got confused. You're right, Blind Cide; you need only to drag the folder into the terminal. :P
