They don't mix...kinda like salt and pepper...no, er like um, seigfried and roy...hmmm. My point is, that whereever you have a conglomeration of tools, dorks, and geeks like all of us....you generally have the absolute absence of hot chicks. Right? I mean, how many hot chicks were in your chess clubs? Hmmm? How many hot chicks do you remember playing D&D with? How many hot chicks do you see at a star trek convention? Hmmmm? Hmmmmm?

This ain't revenge or the nerds or nuthin.

What am I saying? Well, I'm calling shite on TG!!!!! Far too hot to associate with a pack of geeks like us.

I think we are being had....sold a false bill of goods....fed a peck of pickled peckers...er...led on...deceived. And so on. Well, dat's my hunch.

Sides, this forum was gettin a tad stale...

Whew.....

You say that you started this thread because the forum is getting stale..... I wish you would have chosen a different topic because this one sux. Stinky, I really with you had not started this thread.

Problem #1 for me is that I went through this six months ago. This is an old topic, and I went along and answered all off the stupid questions that some skeptics insisted I answer. I sent pictures, I even talked on the phone to a few of you to offer "proof" (can those of you that I talked to speak up please?).

Problem #2 is I refuse to go through all of that again.... It is degrading, silly, and it pisses me off.

Problem #3 comes from your stance in your argument. You force me to argue that I am a "Hot chick" and THAT is a stupid position to be put in.

Sigh....

Right? I mean, how many hot chicks were in your chess clubs? Hmmm? How many hot chicks do you remember playing D&D with? How many hot chicks do you see at a star trek convention? Hmmmm? Hmmmmm?

Funny you should mention the chess club, I was #1 in a high school chess club competition. I played for weeks and at the end the only thing I won was a cheap $2 magnetic travel chess set. Regarding D&D or Star Trek Conventions.... Gimme a break, I wouldn't be involved with either of these.....ever.

How many women do you know that worked as an engineer for Apple Computer? I was the only woman working for Mac OS Engineering.... I was a very popular addition to the team, but for the wrong reasons.... How many women do you know that own a multi-media business?... That are videographers? Graphic designers? Webmasters? And videographers? How many women do you know that can write scripts to program actions in DVD authoring?

I was always a tomboy and I shunned (and was shunned by) the girly-girls in school. I never dated much through high school or my first two years in college. Then I woke up one day and realized that I had gotten curvy and girly. It was a surprise, a paradigm shift because I had never, ever considered myself to be "girly". Suddenly the door opened up and I had the psychological equivalent of an extreme make-over. Some of my closest friends were shocked at my transformation. I went from wearing baggy pants and frumpy shirts to wearing heels and short skirts. That was an incredible transformation in my life... And my grades suffered for it :)

Anyway, my dad got me interested in electronics at an early age, then I discovered computers around 1984-85 and was hooked. I am a shut-in, not much of an outgoing person. I am much more comfortable in my own home than being out and about (Much to Caryn's disliking). I have two kids which are the loves of my life and I don't really do much for entertainment. I always prefer playing with my kids, working on my computer or playing computer games.

Speaking of kids, I have to go not to photograph my son at a school function. I will return soon.... But I will not be patient with this thread for long.....

The bottom line here is, if I was horrible at TT, you probably wouldn't question me... I guess a girl can't be good at computer games?......

I really wish you had not started this thread stinky.....

Girls CAN be good at computer games.. Take my sister for example, she started kicking butt at BMing in this game after about 3 weeks. Now she plays more than I do and its gettting annoying since we can't both be on at the same time.

@ TG

You go girlfriend, chew him up and spit him out. B)

@ stinky

I have to admit this is a stupid thread. Why do you feel the need to degrade women. Besides beauty comes from with in not the stupid shell that we all wear.

Sorry if this upset you but I'm tired off all this judgemental shit,its getting real old fast. B)

I got rid of my earlier post since I thought this was supposed to be a funny thread, but apparently TG isn't amused. Sorry about that.

Of course, now I have to ask, "why does it matter?" Who cares if TG is hot or not? I don't like her because of her legs, but her personality. Da legs is a bonus. If she was some hag wanting to be beautiful on the net, why should it matter? I'm surprised she's actually called some people to prove who she is, like it was necessary or something. I think that was over and beyond on her part.

Still, I don't think stink meant any offense and I don't think the question was is TG a girl or not.

finally, someone ELSE gets the barrells. Cotton anyone?

I thought stink was trying to be funny....i guess not.....this is just a computer game....it doesnt matter what sex, race, creed, etc you are....it think TG's status as a legend comes from her being an active female participant in a community of nerd guys and not from skill. Im about fed up with hearing all this TG worshiping BS...

Arghh... Bolo!?!? Not quite sure what to think of your statement.

Am I fooling myself to think that I am appreciated here for my skill and my sportsmanship? If so, what a shame. I am a vet player and I know that I am in an elite crowd with the best of the best. When I choose to apply myself to a game, I can keep up with any player here. Might not always win, but no one here always wins because of the luck element.

Bolo are you telling me that my status here is ONLY because I am a reasonable looking woman and I have nice legs? Are you saying that I have gained no respect through good gameplay, sportsmanship, and camaraderie?

Just the thought of that makes me crazy.... And pissed. I know this is a community of males, and I know that I have been having fun with some innocent flirting by posting pictures of me (along with many males posting pictures of themselves I might add) , but I only thought that would add fun and spice things up.... I NEVER thought that I would be considered in the way that you mentioned.....

If your goal with that statement was to take the wind outta my sails, congratulations, mission accomplished. You said EXACTLY the right thing to make me very, very uncomfortable.

Can you lock this thread? This is not good and I really don't want the attention.

I'm SURE he was just being funny. I personally thought it was hilarious, but in no way actually question whether or not it's TankGirl. I'm sure it is.

K8, seems like you are getting a lot of attention lately. Maybe the legs picture was more than the so called "men of scrum" can handle? For what it's worth, I think the Stinkmeister was being funny and not really attacking you. I understand why you might be defensive about this since I have seen what you have gone through in the past six months... No wonder you got angry. But I think stinkfingers didn't mean to offend you.

Bolo on the other hand, was out of line. I know of plenty of guys who respected your talents long before they knew what you looked like, or even before they knew you were a girl. Bolo can't figure out why he doesn't get the attention he thinks he deserves.

@Bolo, You want more attention? Start by listening to your rampant negativity (In game and In the forums) and realize that it makes everyone feel negative about you, then take look in the mirror learn to accept what you see, just because you had a tough swim in the gene pool doesn't mean that you can be a jerk to those who do a perfect Swan Dive ;)

@all,

I have hired K8 a couple of times to do graphics work for my company. She is absolutely a She. She is absolutely gorgeous, and She is absolutely a computer nerd.

End of Story.

Yoodoo!!! Again you come to my defense eh? Are you my knight in shining armor or something?

You pretty much went after Bolo's jugular with "just because you had a tough swim in the gene pool doesn't mean that you can be a jerk to those who do a perfect Swan Dive". Ouch......

Anyway, thanks YooDooKnight.

Yikes! I'm SURE he was just being funny too.

Far too hot to associate with a pack of geeks like us.

Heck, sounds like a compliment to me. Lot of people out there can't do half the things you do. Engineer for Apple, owner of a multi-media business, graphic designer, webmaster, and videographer. You forgot mother of 2. That's a lot to juggle and a lot of people would end up looking like something the cat dragged in from all that. You seem to be holding up pretty good, and are very successful at it...and you still have time to kick my butt in scrum! :)

Of course, now I have to ask, "why does it matter?" Who cares if TG is hot or not? I don't like her because of her legs, but her personality. Da legs is a bonus. I agree. I had no idea you went to those lengths to offer "proof". No reason you should have to do that. I've always felt your skill and sportsmanship made you a fun opponent.

All this TG worshiping BS...

I know that I've done several goofy animations that sound like that, but I always thought it was just a little harmless fun. I've deleted several of them after posting because when I look at it a day or 2 later, it's just creepy. Something about the timing or setting just doesn't come across as funny. Humor can be pretty subjective.

Anyway, I GTG. I'm gonna be late to the star trek convention.

Wednesday, June 09, 2004 at 4:10:10 PM

I think we should be more interested in TG's role in engineering the Mac OS. I mean, what's up with those numeric error messages???

Error 625 -

Time to lose everything.

Reboot?

<OK>

@TG:

Bolo are you telling me that my status here is ONLY because I am a reasonable looking woman and I have nice legs?

The fact that you are (from what people have seen in cropped photos) a very attractice woman is a big reason for your status but mostly only amongst those who havent played against you. You have a motley selection of boys and men playing TT, and I'll wager a lot of those boys have little interaction with females thus, to find an attractive one in their community playing the same game, thats plays a huge part in your being 'well known' on here. Not forgetting the sometimes controversial and imagination inducing threads that you have posted here. Almost all of which are very memorable and had huge participation.

However, that said, you are also a great player, and a master of reverse gear. I think the thread was intended to be fun and that stinky only used your name in here asking for a view of the topic from the other side of the fence so to speak - not really in an attempt to categorise you in any way.

Are all gamers or 'forum going folk' geeks? I think not. Are all 'chicks' who dig geeks of the non-hot variety? Again, I think not. Anyway beauty is, afterall, in the eye of the beholder.

Anyway, I'm locking this thread because it seems a lot of people have taken it the wrong way (at least I hope the topic wasnt intented to be what it has become).

@KBC,

In retrospect it seems a bit odd, but like you said about jokes seeming strange a few days later, it seemed like the right thing at the time.

If you dust off your memory banks, you might recall that I originally played (for months) impersonating a guy. I am not even sure why I did that other than the fact that I was the only girl in sight and I thought I would be ganged up on or something... I actually kinda liked playing as a guy.. You boys say some funny stuff when there are no girls around.... Then last December I came out of the gender closet. Although most of the community readily accepted that I had been impersonating a guy, some did not believe me, I mean, How can a girl play computer games.. Right? So I needed to step up to the plate because there were people I respected and was friends with that was having a hard time believing me..... Totally understandable.

I talked on the phone to a few players that I was closest with, started posting my pics in the forum, and allowed anyone who was in disbelief to pry into my life a bit.... At the time it all seemed very understandable. I really like this community and I wanted to be trusted in the face of my gender deception. When I was starting to be asked to give a count of tampons in a box, or talk about my menstrual cycle that I decided the fun was over, but by that time, anyone I cared about was convinced.

So, now I have spent far too much time in this thread.... Argghhhh....

Whether stinky was being a jerk or just being silly, I don't know. But this topic is irritating to me.

I wish -z- could lock this thread and make it go away........
