The game and demo foders are at the same level and should be distinctly different.
Adding a demo folder or better a path that states game/data/missions/demo makes no sense if you understand how these programs are set up. It should be removed.
If you notice something has been wrong do you just leave it or try to fix it? Obviously some people have used it and don't pay attention to where the elements are located.
I had found all that before, I thought I had fixed it before I had Reag put hem in the Mod Pack I guess I missed Paradise Sorry bout that but it seems to load fine for all that has the terr file I have no probs getting in but I will admit there has been a wait time to download that ter Sorry Napalm I truley thought I had fixed all my terrs
I never even noticed that. On my TGE, I don't start on a demo or use demo,, I think in my case my TGE file system is crossed up. I've had problems with it and thought I had it straightened out. Thanks for the heads up , I would have bet anything I didnt have any demo things on my maps. Now that I think about it I believe that when I copied all of my folders from Think Tanks back into the TGE I probably brought a folder that I downloaded from someone else.

Here's the deal with my missions.
Stronghold.ter Not used.
Cb1.ter Not used
CrapsTorque.mis No demo items in.mis file----> I use this map, and I searched the.mis file and theres no reference to the (Demo) folder in it.
Cblush2.ter Not used, my file is cblush2.mis (No Cap's) and has no demo in.mis file
Cblush3.ter Not used, my file is cblush3.mis (No Cap's) and has no demo in.mis file
Cbdesert1.ter Not used, my file is cbdesert1.mis (No Cap's) and has no demo in.mis file
Cbdesertbm.ter Not used, my file is cbdesertbm.mis (No Cap's) and has no demo in.mis file

The oldest mission I can see which contains items from the game/data/missions/demo folder is R1.ter which was modified on 8/04/2004.
Was the demo folder sent to Rx to be added to the Mod_pack?
How did it get in there? Inquiring minds want to know!
It doesnt load automatically for anyone who upgraded to the XPack
There is no demo folder in the XPACKS
What is the point of doing all this work so people can preload
If they have to wait for skins anyways
The whole idea was to unify this so that we could eliminate the wait
I personally have two TBML missions that I can not run...
because why?
BECAUSE THERE IS NO DEMO FOLDER IN THE XPACKS
If we dont correct this it will snowball
FYI: The demo paths were all taken from the terrain files, not the mission files.
Meaning either a texture, detain bump or some other bitmaps was used residing in a demo location.

I m willing to fix it, but when I don't see a problem then I will not fix it. Anyway I don't know much about how this game is built, and to be honest, I hardly care meaning that if everything works fine it s good enough for me.
EDIT: There is absolutely nothing going on with my Scythe01.ter, it might be from the demo and I ll fix it, but since it never was in the Mod_Pack nor many persons have seen it. It doesn't make a difference wether I add it to the mod_pack or not, not many come see.
Even you napalm after you told me (everytime) that if I sended you the files or if you could download you d take a look... I always check my userlog and it gets disappointing after a while...

You have nice mods its just logistics
You server pings at 150-200 for me and spoiled brat that I am
I dont play in servers with more that 90 latency
Which means I hardly if ever play west coast servers either

Don't go getting sad about nobody playing your mods. I recall playing all of whatever you had up running one day. I think we spent a couple of hours playing while others were pre-loading the maps.
I know what you feel, trust me.
Each and every time I kick out some cool new maps I nevr, I mean nevr get to play them. I have a reputation of being a decent modder and yet there are never pickup games in my server. Even now, I have Surley Temple, Molten Magma, and Sydney Gardens, which I consider to be the next level of modding, and I have not played 1 game with anyone on those mods.
I know what you feel.
Be true to your creativity, the only reason mine are even seen by many is they have been excepted into some of the leagues. I would suggest next time a league is looking for a theme map, jump on board and whip something up.

Hmmm, I don't know I might just leave modding for what it is, I tried, I didn't fail but I m just bored with it. Maybe I will do as I said and make a mod from time to time for the few who actually want to see it and ask me to put it up. I will not host it on a dedicated server, just in-game :). As I planned with my IRONIZE serie, only a bit later. I can live with that...

^^^ it's true, your new mods are works of art, but whenever I see someone and go in they start loading.
Once I met someone who WAS in the game, I went in, they insulted me, and then left. Was an eventful day that one.

There has been some talk about some of the maps as of late. I tried to get into one of the maps and the app kept quitting on me, In talking to the server owner I found they could not enter the game. After relaunching the server I was able to enter but the owner could not. It made me thing and asked for the consol log to be sent to me so I could take a look at it.
I was amazed at waht I found. 42 maps using some resource in a demo folder!
STILL USING SOMETHING IN THE DEMO FOLDER?
There is a demo folder in the missions folder.
THIS SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR MODDING, ACTUALLY IT SHOULD BE REMOVED!
This will only confuse up-and-coming modders.

Should maps be inspected before we allow items to be added to the Mod_pack and Expansion Pack?
