Geesh, why do people always hide then shoot? Are they scared??? I used to do that, now I definitely don't. Why can't you people be strong and tough, and get yourselves killed? Why hide???

Yes. It is kind of cheap, you should be out there and fight, and avoid, not stay on the edge of the map!!!

I don't know about being on the edge of a map but I find that using a rock or tree as cover is a much smarter way to attack someone than going in and shooting blindly exposing you to tons of other players.

Oh, shootind blindly? No I mean people go on the edge stay there, waits for someone close to come by, and then starts to shoot the crap out of the person. Its not really fun at all!!!

I'm new to this but here goes. I'm with A. O. On this. Hiding is fine when your smoking worse than your dads Bar-B-Que, but when you have almost full health. Cheap tactics. XO

I hate cliff-hangers they always wait until a "scooting object" tries to kill him. That is such stupid!!!! But campers are ok, that is fair playing: u can shoot them, without problems. Conclusion don't be a cliff-hanger!!!

I think that hiding is a good thing 2 do when you can shoot them but they can't shoot you.

And hiding on the edge of the map is stuped. (Unless u r on survivor, it's funny whatching them FLYYYYYYYYY over u!!!)

They should call it Team hide until u see smoke Mode. Because there is never really to much battleing. Espically when people are tring to shot eachother from across the board. WHOO now thats fun

@dekon - hmm thats really anoyying - and also pointless, because usually the target has moved before the shot reaches them.

Although it is useful in team batlemode to sit on top of a hill in a group and shoot whoever comes IF your team is outnumbered.

I just charge at my oponents from the side or back and just keep pushing them and shooting better then hiding. Your at close range so you can make every shot count and if you get from side or behind and keep pushing there is nothing they can do most of the time unless land or someone intervines

To hide or not to hide - that is the question. Hmmmm, lets look at history. Remember dem redcoats. They use to march in bright red uniforms in open fields to engage the enemy. Seems like our forefathers taught them a valuable lesson. It is shear stupidity to go out in the open and face equal or overwhelming odds. It is much smarter to use a small rise, etc to provide some cover for your tank while you smoke the others. You may call it what you will but it is the smart thing too do - hence the name think tanks. Why do we have stealth bombers? Why do we have helicoptors that can look over a ridge, spot the enemy, forward gps coordinates to a bomber and send a smart bomb to destroy the tank. It is a game but the idea is to win. Running out with guns blazing on an open field ain't smart but might be fun - LOL.

In reality hiding as you say is the way of war....snipers kill many by hiding...
so why not use it in a game....kill not be killed........jusgrl/oz

Dude it adds a little strategy into think tanks, yes some people hide, but that doesnt mean everyone that uses cover for their own gain isnt hiding, and besides alot of times if you rush, youll get killed, you take cover behind a rock or tree, fire a clip into the enemy THEN rush

The way I got the high scores was I sat on the edge of the map and let all the bots fly off. XD
So hiding is somewhat good, but people should only use it in offensive situations that let you get the kill. Don't hide like some idiotic noob.

First there is something inherently wrong with a big tank hiding. I mean the whole point of playing a heavy is to get in there and muck it up, that is why we play a heavy. Second and maybe more importantly getting a high score with bots is not the real world. Try hiding on the servers with real players and you are doing a disservice to your fellow team members who may be relying on your armour and big gun to do some damage. Plus any light tank will make quick work of a hiding heavy. Next thing we know you will be cliff hanging....

Ok personally I think cliffhanging is wrong.Hide behind something is one of the smartest tactics in a battle mode.Sitting out in the open and taking hits especially heavy tanks for their slow movement is very stupid.For most heavy tank players its hard to get a really good hit on an opponent especially if they move alot faster than you do.So take cover behind something when needed.

^Yes, but also you should not rely on hiding and shooting that doesn't always work, so people might come after you and tehn u might be in big trouble becuase most likely u hid near the edge, and with a simpl bump ur off. You need to come out and and use you skills not cower in the dark. I prefer close reange combat, but from time to time I enjoy a good game of sniping ;)

Snipers dont hide. WE just get way up high and most of the time we are wide open. I love sniping one of the only thigns I am good at on TT.

AncientOne, I have to agree. If you remember that match up I had with Fred to become assisstant leader of SA, half of the time, he used rocks as cover to hide from me!! That was pretty frustrating. If youre smoking thats fine...but cliff hanging and blindshooting is a bunch of BS!!!!

If a person hides, he has nothing to fear...except hiself getting no points. Thats why everyone who hides gets a lot of points. If you ignore a person who hides, he'll come out. THEN you can shoot the crap out of him. If you notice a hiding person on your radar, don't go and get yourself smoked or killed. Leave him there until he comes out. Then once he sees someone coming, he'll go and hide again (if he doesn't, kill him. He's bound to have a good surprise and not know what hit him until he is smoking). Once he's hiding again, forget about him. Etc.etc. Then they won't get anymore points and likely to be at the bottom of the list. After he does the hiding technique for a time and sees that people get smart and ignore him, he'll learn the meaning of the game ThinkTanks and be a real fighter. That's what you'll wanna know if you want to turn a hider, into a fighter! ;) B)
