Okay, since some of you have been requesting the method of making new sounds, here is how. Go to your special.cs and follow the instructions. You can edit the stuff in bold to your liking.
FOR A GOAL-SCORING SOUND:
Find the end of the audioProfile datablocks. Add this at the end:

datablock AudioProfile(NewSound )
{
filename = "~/data/sound/MySound.wav ";
description = "AudioDefault3DMed";
preload = true;
};

Then go to this datablock

function PowerUpData::onEnter(%db,%this,%tank)

and this if statement

else if (%db.type $= "goal")

and this line:

serverplay3D(ActivatePup,%this.getTransform());

Change it to this:

serverplay3D(NewSound ,%this.getTransform());

You are all ready now! Just start a server and listen to the sound! :)

Y am I banned from your server?

Sunday, January 01, 2006 at 9:29:26 AM

Napalm sent me his banlist, and for some reason, your IP was on it under the name ********tyty*********. I took it off.

Tuesday, January 03, 2006 at 3:44:34 PM

@ Swift Knight

How many time do you read this sentence in numerous posts within the modding forums.............

EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS AVAILABLE IN THE MODDING RESOURCE

Please take your time to read it and visits ALL the links as everything you will ever need for your mod is in there. The special.cs, amungst other files is available on Max's site

The link in the forum doesn't work.

Tuesday, January 03, 2006 at 6:02:25 PM

@ Swift Knight

Yes we all know the PTT link in Midding Info does not work. Modding Info IS NOT the MODDING RESOURCE!!!! 8o

If you were to actually read my post above you can see that I have tried to direct you to the MODDING RESOURCE which for your information is on the first page on the modding forum if you were to actually look. And even put a link to it in my post above to take you directly there, how much more helpful can I be? B)

ThatsMODDING RESOURCE in blue its a link to the page try clicking on it :(

If thats to hard here is a direct link to Max's site Max Works Website click the blue

But I cant stress how important it is you discover the Modding Resource page in the modding forum because it will save you endless hours of hastle and posting, on the flipside saving endless hours of people like me telling you to go there.

I have only created one MOD and it was ALL done by reading the information and visiting the websites in the MODDING RESOURCE and not by posting every question in the forums. Sure I had a few problems on the way but they were either solved via the MODDING RESOURCE or by searching PTT (which you can do at the MODDING RESOURCE) or as a last resort posting on the forums.

My advice to you is SLOW DOWN AND TAKE YOUR TIME everything comes to those who wait, get your MOD running before you start messing with the special.cs and other server script files, as these could cause you more problems than you could wish for.

I do hope you can get things working and I'm looking forward to playing your mod

Regards

Daz

I know you're annoyed dazzle, but you don't know what he meant. You assumed by his latest post that he went to the "Modding Info" section of PTT. But this is what I think he did. Looking through the modding resource, the only link to the special.cs in that thread links to the modding info page , which doesnt work. I think that is what he meant. In fact, the only place where a download for the special.cs is mentioned is in tiny print at the bottom of the very long list of things that are on MAX's website. So please, don't jump to conclusions.

Wednesday, January 04, 2006 at 2:37:09 PM

^ I was not annoyed just making the point that if I or anyone post a response to a cry fror help it would be nice if that person were to read correctly and use the links provided, after all thats only the correct thing to do. Its what I would have done if I were in the same position. If Swift is new to modding, just like I am, then he would take his time to work through the MODDING RESOURCE and get the answers to the questions he has. After all thets what the MODDING RESOURCE is there for. I am sure you did the same thing when you decided to go moddin as you do not ask the sort of question he has.

Oh and I did say

The special.cs, amungst other files is available on Max's site

And under the link to Max's site it does say

This is MAX-CR's website where you can find all the codes for modding the tanks, modding weapons, using emiters, making teleporters, etc...

- Code For The Mission File:
Translated Mission File - I have translated most of the Mission File and defined each line of code.
Original Default Tank Settings - I extracted all of the code for the tank movement and translated them for the mission (.mis) file.
Original Default Tank Fx Settings - I extracted all of the code for the tank's fx (how the tank dies and stuff) and translated them for the mission (.mis) file.
Original Default Weapon Settings - I extracted all of the code for the Weapon and translated them for the mission (.mis) file.
Original Default Projectile Settings - I extracted all of the code for the Projectile and translated them for the mission (.mis) file.
Original Default Brain Settings - I extracted all of the code for the Brain and translated them for the mission (.mis) file.
Original Default Volcano Settings - I extracted all of the code for the Volcano and translated them for the mission (.mis) file.
Original Default Camera - I extracted all of the code for the tank's camera (how the tank sees) and translated them for the mission (.mis) file.
Fast tank Set - This is an example set to put into your mission (.mis) file to see what can be done. FYI requires Emitters!
Teleporter Directions - These are directions for creating teloporters in the mission (.mis) file.
Your brain has been separated from your tank - These are directions for changing the center print "Your brain has been separated from your tank,press SPACE."

- Emitter Information:
Emitters as weapons and nodes - These are directions for using the emitters in the mission (.mis) file.
Emitters Defined - We have translated most of the emitter settings from the special.cs file and defined each line of code. (Thanks Nathan)
Emitter Settings - This is an example set of my emitters to put into you special.cs file replacing rocket etc.
special cs with emiters.zip - This is the special.cs file I use. It includes all the emitters and ~z~'s Health Gate

How much more specfic infomation could I give? And I will play in his mod when it is up as I have done in yours. I beleive all modders should check out and support others who have taken the time and gone through the stressful process of making their forst MOD, you know what I mean eh? The second one is definately easier than the first, just like most things in life.

@ Swift Knight if I seemed agressive I did not mean to be, was just pointing out the way to make your modding experience a little easier XD

Perhaps I should just shut up and offer no help :[ No way man thats not in my nature........ :P

Regards

Daz

special.cs + the other bravetree's scripts can be found from here

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

I have released two new mods: Mon11 & Mon12. Both are finished and ready to be played. They will be in the ModicaPack (Nap you owe me one ;) ) soon.

No problem!
You have to download Napalm's XPack 3 first. The thread for it is in the General forums, probably first or second page--The title of the thread is "Expansion Pack Version 3."
Once you are in the thread, click on the picture.

KC

Hey Monica,

I downloaded your "Modica" pack. I'm wondering if I just add all the contents, including the shapes, etc folders to my.mis folder?

Thx,

KC

Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 9:20:53 AM

Well...
All the.ter files you put in game/data/missions.
But if you find a folder that says "game.data.sound", put the contents of the folder into game/data/sounds.
This goes for any folder like that. If you find any non-.ter files directly in the zip file (no subfolders) then just email me. :)

Mon17-19 are coming very soon! I'm just too lazy to make a zip file yet and I can't host.

@All
After a period of time without TGE, I have finally got a new terrain.
Will be MWing it soon.

Monday, February 20, 2006 at 12:39:37 PM

Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at 1:57:53 PM

Mon24 is still in the terrain editing phase due to a TGE crash.
