How does one insert the "ƒ" , and "•" symbol in their TT name. I know how to do the PTT name, but I'd like my TT name as in PTT. I believe fuji uses "ƒ" in his TT name, but I'm not sure... I messed a little with players.cs, thought I was on the right track, but didn't get it. I didn't pursue it further, for fear of screwing something over. :P Any help?

I do it the good old fashioned way...trial and error...

Use the shift key as well as alt to gte some characters... Also using alt on its own gives a different set of characters, fiddle around a bit in the name menu

At the moment I'm on a mac. Will change though when I get a new computer, which will unfortunately be a PC. :P

OH, the irony.

Haha- I can't afford a mac. :(

Anyway, what about the ƒ and • characters I mentioned. Any way specifically for those? I can't type them in the TT name box, so I think players.cs is where I should go...

Please dont Niko, It makes it very hard for admins to moderate the servers and change people to the other team.

Show doesnt need symbols to intimidate his opponents :)

Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 11:57:28 AM

Pedro- The only thing I was going to change was put a dot at the front and end, and the F changed to what I showed. The name "Niko" will be left untouched... :)

Big Show- No intimidation is meant. Although, if you see me as more intimidating with symbols, that's just dandy. ;)

Ehe... No one's answered my question yet. :P

Personally, its very hard to use the admin script with the wierd things in your names.

If you want a full list of characters (this works for windows only)...

1. Click start
2. Click programs
3. Click accessories
4. Click system tools
5. Click character map

This program has a huge list of all the different characters imaginable. ThinkTanks may not recognize some of them and they will appear as '?' in the game.

@ Cloud, did you ever notice the admin keybind in the prefs file? Admin Script is much easier to use when you use it. ;)

Aye special characters are aggravating for admins. I'm semi running out of patience. :)

Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 1:44:44 PM

^ true you must use control Ignore cycle thru all the names because murphys law makes the player you want always the last one on the list, then erase ignore script , then type in the command you want.

Names of players with special characters , especially the names with only special characters are an extra load of work to admin. These guys probably don't know this!

Good idea Niko to keep mostly normal letters.

I don't think anyone read that I'm only putting a couple in, and it wouldn't affect the admin's ability to kick, boot, or do whatever to me that they think they need to do. I'm leaving "Niko" all open. That hasn't been a problem before, has it? ;)

They can ignore, kick and preform any code they want to on anyone with those unkewl simbels. Just hit Ctrl + I until you get to the desired name. Then replace /ignore with the code you want.

I believe fuji uses "ƒ" in his TT name, but I'm not sure...

Indeed I do. I have several other names like "double ƒ" and stuff like that. All I do is poen up character map and hit Ctrl+V on the name create screen. ;)

Yeah... Uh my mac is back in phoenix. Its just a G4, so I use my dell to play tt on. Macs also dont let you copy and paste in tt, which makes me ANGREH lots of times, unlike the PCs. And also, as you said, the option key sticks up a different set of symbols than it does in the regular operating system, and ive tried every key and I havent been able to get my happy little ƒ in tt on my mac. So it looks like this story aint gonna have a happy ending, sorry :'(

^aye... Damit. Well... The mac I'm using is my mom's laptop, lol. Which- is of course "JUST a G4", haha, and Racer- what's so 'unkewl' about them if I still leave "Niko" open- as no one seems to be reading that I have, lol. Nice trick with the ignore thing. ;)

Anyways- This is lockable, as I've now learned. XD I'll force my old trusty laptop (that used to do me so well) into booting up TT and trying it, for reassurance. :P

I figured out how to do it on a mac.
go into thinktanks/client and open up "players.cs" edit on of the names between the quotation marks at the bottom, inserting the symbols as you please. XD

^ but... I tried that. I must not have done it right. Then delete players.cs.dso, right?

Thanks :) ,
