Page : <1> :

Hi all,

I see that some have a light tank icon under their name in the posts. I imagine that there is a way for us to personalize what the image is under our name (such as adding a picture)...

Any thoughts on how to do that?

The tank (and there will be extra bits) are all (and will be) derived from the stats. There is no way to change this other than through playing the game (once the stats section is fully functional)

Good idea Z.

A bit of a shame though, it would be fun to see each posters face along with the post. Since I feel more protected here I thought I might use one of the few nice pictures I have of myself for my logo.

Speaking of pictures, is there any way to add a page to the site that is a "Picture album" where we could go to look at each others photos? Might be nicer than having a bloated thread or having to click each link individually.

The main page of the album could be thumbnails. Just a thought.

I will, in time, probably expand the member-profile page to include far more than it does, including: tank skin used and other optional info. In the mean time, people can use the web-site to link to such a picture.

As for custom images under names a) that gets very messy when images are all of different sizes and can screw up page formatting, b) People often use totally irrelevant and sometime abusive images c) Hopefully, once fully operational, the stats displayed there will be far more useful and informative.

Can you get a UFO under your name by playing as a UFO? I am sure many people only use a UFO, and it surprises me that there are no UFO's there!

Pictures under names take too much bandwidth to load large threads. Imagine every thread being like a miniature version of.facial revelations? Just keep them in the profiles.

I like the idea of special pictures but there are the problems presented by Z and these stats

484 members X 3 kilobyte image=

1452 kb= approxamitely 1.5 gigabyte of memory space

In other words, on an average computer, these images would take up about 1/40 of the space

It might not seem like alot but remember that Z is not funded to make this website and he doesn't have the time to make an "upload your image" page. Plus, most images are larger

Each picture on my digital camera is about 500 kb

(484 X 500=24 gigabytes)

You get the point so I won't go any further

About Z's first reason (a):

Z, you can use the

<img src="img.gif" height="#" length="#" >

Wouldnt that only be approxomantly 1.5 mb instead of 1.5 gigs?
