Eagle
Thx, yea I wana b in normal, cuz im in advanced algebra right now, and im doin pretty bad, so I hope im not in the smart class
Heh, I'm homeschooled now But when I was in 6th grade we had to take those !
Then The School cut them because of Budget Problems :)
-Free
@ TNP - If you ask me I don't think you should really worry about it one way or another.
Those test are designed to place poeple where they need to be.
It's not about passing, status or quantity of homework.
It's about how much you have actually learned in the last 7 grades.
-Can you understand what you read?
-Can you articulate your thoughts in the written language?
-Can you calculate?
-Do understand basic geometry?
-Do they even have History or Art in those test? Probably not.
If you have problems with any of those things then you will be placed in the environment the will benefit you most.
It's a placement exam. They just need to know where the kids are at so they know what classes to give them.
The worst case scenario is they try placing you in classes that are too easy or too hard.
I would think you have the right to petition those placements. There goal is to educate all of you at the same time.
No worries.
Your greatest power comes from your ability to think. Not regurgitate isolated facts.
If you can think your way out of a paper bag your golden.
I know you can think.
Multiple choice & True or False tricks: (not absolute)
-If there is "all of the above" as a choice, it is very likely the correct answer. Why else would it be there. Unless they all have it.
-Usually of the four choices there are two choices that are totally wrong and there are two that are almost right, one of which is the correct one.
-Sometimes they trick you buy making you choose between the more correct of the two. (when none are totally true. No idea why they do this)
-If you aren't sure about a choice move on and come back to it. There might be information or clues later to help.
-Try reading the choices first and guess the question. (Jeopardy style)
I hope this helps somehow.

Thx a bunch guys! And for the tips max! Yea our teachers have been givin us gepa practice. Tons of writing!
Ugh, today was day one of the testing. I cant sit in a seat for 3 hours straight!! Some questions were easy and some were really hard. So I went with c, cuz wen I doubt go with c.....day two tomorrow :'(
Does these tests have any effect to your grades? If no, just chill and put some checks here and there. I done something similar test to that(I think these are similar) around at 8th grade. They were piece of cake.
I searched with google little and found this site . There are examples of the GEPAs. I looked them a little and they seemed pretty similar to the ones I did once. Nice way to spend some hours at school(just hope they come over the stupid subjects ;) ).
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
GO GET EM! U DA MAN! U DA GENIUS! U EINSTEIN FOR FREAKIN SAKE!
Luck to u take
Thx, today was the math section, which I found very easy. Lord knows why, but for some reason I seemed to know how to do every problem, when in algebra class I couldnt do diddly-squat. I feel I did really good on this section. Tomorrows reading/english. This test is killer on ur ass, though. Sittin in a desk for 2 hrs straight makes my ass hurt, lol.
@ triv- no this doesnt effect your grades, but it decides youre placement in high school. So if you do bad in a section, say science, you get put in a lower class of science(stupid people science, if you will)

Well, this monday thru thursday, the 8th graders in our school(including me), will be taking the GEPAs. Grade eight proficciency assesment. This decides whether you'e put in the "stupid people" classes, or the "smart people" classes, or "the normal classes". I really wana do good on this, but im so frickin nervous about this. I hate standardized testing!!! XO
Hopefully you all wish me luck and I do well!
