Page : <1> :

Today we live in a violent world, where many people have guns, including our kids. Of course many of us by our kids BB or airsoft guns so that they can play along with there friends in the forest. This is okay, but what will happen when they grow up? When they get use to having guns when they are younger they will get real guns when they are older. And what about us? Some of us have guns, and we keep them in places where kids can easily find it. Remember that it only takes a few seconds with a gun to change a life. Do you want your kids to be one of those convicted killers when they grow up? I hope not. My friend already bought his kid an airsoft gun from airsoft armory.co for his birthday, and guess what? He's hooked with it, pretending he's shooting people in the air. His parents don't care at all. What do you think of this thing? Would you buy your kids weapons at an early age? Post what you think.

Er...I'm 14, and I OWN a 7mm, a.22 pistol, a.22 rifle, a.243, and I will be inheriting many many more, including some that date back many many years. I see no problem with kids with guns, as long as they are properly introduced, and diciplined with them.

EDIT: I got the.22 at age 7, yet was not allowed a BB gun until age 10. Ironic, eh?
EDIT2 : I actually trust kids with guns more than adults(well, 12 and up kids), kids usually seem to be more careful because they dont have as much confidence with guns as more adults do, so they try to be more careful. The only time I was even close to being shot was at a shooting match an acidental discharge of a.45 pistol about 4 foot from me. Guess what? It was a 38 year old man, that thought he had unloaded his gun, but he hadn't. I was lucky enough that he was pointing at the ground, so it hit right under the chair I was sitting in, instead of the bullet hitting me.

Well I am a 14 year old and I do indeed have access to guns. Very easily I can get hold of a 9mm handgun and a rifle used by the swat teams. If I wanted too I could take these and do very bad things but I do not wish too. Personally I believe it is ok to give them the soft type guns just as long as the parent can teach the children not to use real guns on other people. My dad is a cop so he tout me how to have a gun and I can use it very well, but he also tought me not to use them unless I am threatned by a killer of some sort. So in the end it all comes down to if the parent can teach the kid not to use the real guns.

I almost won one. My dad has an AR-16 though.....I want one so bad....

Uzi's are the best, I like to play video games with them but I'd never want a gun. Too violent we slips like peaceful fluffy clouds. :) :P

Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 6:55:59 PM

Tanks are violent, but you don't see grown-ups driving tanks everywhere.

*Go Army commercial plays on TV*

Ahem...

Point well made ancient. My little brother owns a.22 rifle, and I use a.45 handgun. But we only use them at the secure shooting range. The one where if you step over the red line when it's not time, you have a security unit on ya in seconds.

Wer can I git a masheen gun at?

Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 8:53:31 PM

AncientOne, aren't you a kid? Or did you steal that from a news article? O.o

My friend and I have played around with his Airsoft gun for a while and we've found that it's absolutely harmless. It shoots little, yellow pellets at you at speeds under 10 MPH. Nothing wrong with it unless you modify it to shoot at 20 MPH.

My friend also has absolutely no desire whatsoever to continue this trend upwards toward paintball, then BB, then real guns. He knows what would happen if he got addicted to guns.

Most non-stock airsoft guns can shoot upwards of 300-500 fps. 300fps = 214mph, and 500 fps = 340.9mph. :)
I also play paintball, quite a fun game. No reasism at all involved. (well except 'shooting' a projectile at another person intentionaly. But the projectile is a gellitan ball, far from a hollow-point bullet. :) )

No kid under 18 should be allowed to own a gun. No kid under 18 should be allowed to use a gun without adult supervision. Parents/guardians/gun owners should be subject to strict penalties if the first two are violated.

@Spunky
No I am not a kid. Why would a kid even want to talk about this? Also I did not take this from anywhere. It was just something I suddenly remembered about, as well as the fact I was bored out of my wits, so I decided to post this.

@Flea

My older bro(20 yrs. Old) told me that Machine Guns can be found mostly during a war or in certain Gun Stores/Shooting Ranges, I'm 11 and I've handled a shotgun(only for hunting) I also have a certificate for shooting at FiringLine(A shooting Range). XD

Monday, March 28, 2005 at 6:26:27 PM

I live in England,
I don't have any guns,
I'am 11,
In Birmingham, street gangs are killing people about 3 a year
Some people belive it is due to T.V,Comptuer E.T.C
The volince on those are geting worse so of the 18s are
GTAs, and Manhunt e.g Manhunt was surpose to have given the idea to a boy to kill his best frenid because I thought
he could get away
This seems sad but I miss swords
In a war u might not get a chance to kill any one but with swords u have a chance to surive
(If u r a good fighter)
Dropping bombs on city isn't very good for kids to get used to
The world is geting more volent all the time
And its killing inicence people
And giving chirldren ideas.....

I, personally, love shooting, but I agree there is too much violent influence today. *cough* Doom 3 *cough*

I like to trapshoot with my dad. I was a little unsure about shooting at first until I read that shooting is one of the safest sports in the world, believe it or not. It's right up at the top of the list with chess, since no one has ever died from it. (O_o)

YOU CANNOT BEAT ME IN TRAPSHOOTING!! I OWN!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahahahahahahaha

Sorry, got carried away there. I believe that I'm decently good for twelve years old.
I do own an airsoft gun and I have fun with it, but my dad's really strict about it when I have friends around.

Also, the other guy I go shooting with is a gun collector. He has at least twenty shotguns and rifles, plus he has an old British Enfield rifle from World War II.
I have a friend who eats, sleeps, breathes, plays, and lives guns. He has a 20 gauge, and his dad has a.22, an M1 Carbine, some.40 and.45 pistols, and a newly-purchased Barett.50 cal.

(Barett.50 cal = humongous sniper rifle with 10x scope, weighs around 33 pounds, fifty caliber bullets, semi automatic, worth $8,500, overall freakin huge.)

Teenager + Barett + standing up - bipod + fires = headless, one-armed teenager.

Phew. What a mouthful.

Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 11:58:20 AM

Alright you kidos time for a seasoned shooter to step in...yah right. I am 15 years old and personally own several guns including a paintball, BB, pellet, two.22's,.243, and two shotguns. All of these are used for recreation and/or hunting. I have been through hunters safety, and I am a accomplished hunter (chipmunks, squirrels, deer and pheasent). I see no problem with a child of the proper age owning a firearm, as long as they are NEVER allowed to use it without parental supervision, and they have also had some sort of safety class. I think adults should also have some sort of safety class as well. As long as we have those two things we are ok.

Mumke makes a valid point... As long as the safety parameters are met, and parental supervision is at its highest, then there really isn't anything to fear as far as violence is concerned. In the wrong hands, however, the consequences may be too high for children. My dad owns a.45 GLOCK w/ a wood-grain finish grip, and he let me have his Mustang, Model 060060 w/.380 caliber.... (FYI I make my own buckshot by the way (6 gauge sawwed-off + BeamSHOT1000 + 17 year old = rabbit stew!! XD ) Thats my 2 cents.

I agree with sub to a certian degree. I mean, what kind of example is a guy pulling somebody out of a car and blowing thier head off with a shotgun!?!?!? %) Not cool. MOH (Medal of Honor) on the other hand, gives some realism to the past. I know some kids who think that Normandy and all those other bloody conflicts are just a bunch of stories, but people actually WENT through those things. They watched people get blow to bits by artillery and then watched the survivors get cut to peices by machine gun fire. It is not a bad example, just an ugly, greusome reminder. Wow....didn't know I could type like that. Someone else type something I don't agree with, I want to see if I can do that again!! XD lol

If there is a nother war in the
future the kids will be the battle
so on the other hand they will
need to learn a little bid about guns
and stuff but not to the piont of
chucking people out of there car
killing them with a ak47
and a 14"magnem pistol
blowing there heads off
so I agre MOH is
good in so ways

Saturday, April 09, 2005 at 1:41:40 AM

Interesting so thier parents buy 18 rated games for their seven year old children? The parents should think a little bit more what they're buying for them and check out what kind of material it holds inside. I guess these kids have begged their parents to buy it... And parents got enough of the crying and just bought it. So they would stop begging...
