I am used to play with my iMac connected to my homebrew tube power amp... LOL what a sound...

I thought about the sub woofer power tube option but I use studio headphones just so I won't bother my apartment neighbors. The ButtKicker device has an amplifier that allows you to tune out all but the lowest frequencies, so it's supposed to be neighbor friendly.

Thats cool as. I bet 44 already has one with a modified crotch strap attatchment. XD

I think my neighbors are sitting in their house with headphones on :P Yea the subs I hooked up to my stero system and the one I have to my computer are probably annoying the neighbors lol :P

I want an entire suit that vibrates XD

I love my randylion

Ok, I got a buttkicker, however the tank engine registers more than hits on me do. I need to modify the engine sound to exclude the frequencies under 70 MHz and I need to add/amplify the frequencies under 70 MHz for the "hits on me" sound. Does anyone know how to do this?

Equalizer?

I ended up using Audacity, a free sound editer, to modify the two sounds. I put a short length, tall amplitude step into the middle of the "hit you" sound and de-amplified the engine sound. Now it's like my chair is being hit with a hammer when I'm hit. And the constant rumble from the engine (that was relaxing my sphincter) is gone. :)

Can you send me the "hit you" sound BC? I would love to try it out. Email is in profile.

@ Racer or anyone with a subwoofer:
modified explodeHitYou.ogg file

@ Reagent X
I'll keep it as long as I play TT for sure. The clamp-on unit is all aluminum and of very rugged construction. Who knows how long the amp will last. I'm only using 20% of the volume on the amp so you if you have a home theatre setup with subwoofer controls it would be easy enough to clamp it to your theatre seating also. Apparently these types of devices are popular with the home theatre crowd.

I've decided to buy one BC....but not for me. I think I've finally figured out a way to get some spousal support for my TT addiction. Can you amplify the engine sound?

LOL, it's the speed powerup that will be her favorite. ;)

I also have a seat cushion with "massaging vibration" and heat. It's fun to watch women try it. There are neck, back, and seat zones with dual intensity settings. Women have a "raised eyebrow" expression when they try the seat vibrator on low followed by "big eyes" when they kick it up to high (and they always try the high setting). Honestly, there can only be one purpose the manufacturer had in mind for the seat vibrator. I won't even speculate about the spot vibrator built into the handheld controller.

When I use the heat with the back vibrator it cures tight back muscle problems in minutes.

Hey BC, will this work with any chair? In the brochure it only shows it attached to a center-post chair. I have a regular old 4-legged chair.

Do a Google for -- gamers chair -- or something similar. Lot of cool chairs already rigged for it.

You mean this thing???

^LOL, if you don't modify the engine sound then that would be the recommended configuration.

The clamping mechanism might put marks on the wood, but other than that it should work fine. I'd ship it to you so you could try it but it's damn heavy .

J & R has it for $100 shipping included. I got mine from COMPUSA.

It makes no noise, it shakes your chair instead. Music is better, DVDs are more like the theatre, and the colors! Oh wait, I think I had it turned up too high. %)

YEEEHAW! XD

I just got my Buttkicker today! I have a wooden chair, not a center-post chair. I had to install a new crossmember in order to be able to hook it up. Here is what it looks like now:

It is so cool to feel the idle of the tank engine. And then going into battle - OMG! Crazy how this thing makes no audible noise - it just vibrates like crazy. Thank god this thing has volume control! I have it set only at 2 out of 5 dots on the volume. I am still fiddling with the settings. Right now I have both cutoff filters ON and the frequency set to about 65. I will compare notes with you BC a bit later...

I'm not understanding this a little. Is this "ButtKicker Gamer" device supposed to vibrate when someone gets a shot at your tank?

If it than, oh my gosh! I wish I had one of those! XD

EDIT: Oh my gosh! Nevermind! I read all about this ButtKicker Gamer device and it's superb! All the reviews were 5/5 and this WILL be great on Enemy Territory! I mean imagine your being fired at and your ButtKicker Gamer will vibrate insanely! However, $150 US is a little to high for me. :(

ReagentX please, PLEASE, PLEASE, send us back a video on your ButtKicker Gamer so we can all see how good this thing is in action! THANK YOU! XD

A video wouldn't show anything because nothing moves. There is some kind of piston inside that bangs back and forth. You would just see a video of my butt. :o

@CompUComp
I used to play a helicopter game at the arcade that felt like a hammer was hitting it's fiberglass chair when you received enemy gun fire. I've wanted to make a similar device for TT but now I don't have to. There's a link above to get it for $100.

@Reagent X
Woot! But that chair looks like the torture rack that screwed my back up when I first started video gaming 10 years ago. My prescription for you is to go to an office supply store and sit in their chairs until you find one that feels comfy.

I had to almost eliminate the engine sound rumble in order to get the hammer-hit effect from incoming fire that I was lookin for. Have you tried my modified sound file?

Saturday, January 07, 2006 at 11:21:51 AM

Yes, I just tried your sound file. I can see what you are getting at - more of a BANG when you take each bullet. Seems there could be more done to optimize the sound files for Buttkicker use!

I think this chair is destined to become a pile of splinters given how massive the vibrations are! Hopefully it won't crumble in the middle of a league game!

I don't want to start any rumors, and admit I have no idea what was going on, but...

Late last night I found ReagentX and Blind Cide alone in a server, tanks facing each other at close distance, not moving, rhythmically shooting each other. I can't repeat the chat messages in a public forum.

Sickos.

LOL!
I want one of these!

Said to be so powerful that it can move an open door back and forth.
