And to the enemy who were killed? Why do you not have a memorial to them?

I'm guessing it isn't the time to link to a page about how people know they're going to take life when they get into the military, and then kill for money, and about how the US is being an imperialist jackass ...so, yes, in memoriam of ALL those who have died.

I was tempted to just burn the flag a Scout handed me at the parade today, but I didn't have a lighter. I'm glad I quit Scouts... Right before I would have been forced to march indignantly for a cause I didn't believe in. There were military recruiters
handing out candy to little kids from "Army of One" bags. Clearly, this isn't the final draft for the procession.
@the late military: Sorry you guys had to die. But ya know, rich white people just need to get richer... Let's drill in Alaska!
^^good guess.
Disagree with policy. Question leadership. Condemn atrocities. But, today especially, respect the courage and honor the sacrifice.

Man, I didn't know I was so popular! XD
Pass the popcorn...
It's amazing that SK was berated for wanting a safe harbor for "adults" here. Yet the distinctions as to what constitutes "PG" vs profanity obviously goes beyond a simple s*** or piss, as demonstrated by dumb-asses. Ironic considering lives were given so we can be all the dumb-ass we want to be.

Bump.
Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.

The list could not fit on the page. :(
Also the word 'enemy' is funky... Considering their homeland is occupied. Maybe 'locals' would be better? :o
The list of between 38059 and 42434 civilians that were killed would take up even more pages. Or would you consider them "enemies"?
Sheesh! I'm not going to write what I really want to write. Its just not worth it.
I will say we need to remember those who have given their lives in defense of this country in every conflict we're been involved. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be free to post whatever we wanted, assuming we were still here in the first place. So if you want to rag on those who gave up everything in the service of their country, feel good that you're demeaning men and women who've done more for their country in a week than you'll ever hope to do in a lifetime.
I'm not ragging on them. I'm angry that they are dying in a war that was started by lies. I'm mad that nobody seems to care about 40,000 innocent Iraqis that were killed. War is pointless.
@Hugobrainz, it's not so 19th century. In the 19th century, we had wars about important things like slavery and independent government (not saying war was good, but in my book at least a few of them needed to happen to resolve things). The real problem is the 20th century, when man realized that the only thing left to fight over was power, and a bunch of really horrible weapons were perfected. Now all the people that were born in the middle of this century are running the world, and because they were taught that way they run the world that way. Hopefully they won't destroy it, and their children will end war forever....
(no offense to you "older" guys)
From Wiki:
"Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday that is observed on the last Monday of May (most recently observed May 29, 2006). It was formerly known as Decoration Day. This holiday commemorates U.S. Men and women who have died in military service to their country. It began first to honor Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War. After World War I, it expanded to include those who died in any war or military action."
From my POV, you guys are saying what the soldier can or can not do.You try having to choose to disobey direct orders and get yourself fired from your only job with wives/husbands and kids. Now, I also do not know what it is like being one, but my dad has been in the military for the past 16 years. He hasn't once shot anyone either. Iraqi's and US soldiers either do what they are told because of their duty to their country, religous beliefs, or maybe because they needed the pay.
I would like the united nations to be made up of 1 person from each country. They vote what we as a country vote on every inportant decision. = result no war no selfishness
For all my ranting I still believe my county is worth protecting. Thus it is necessary to have a force that does that.
For the families and love ones who have died serving my county my heart explodes with sorrow.

Hmpphh, my uncle isn't on there. Guess he doesn't count because he died after he got home from the war.... :[
@player36 - I care about them, pretty much the same opinion as you have there. :o
I use multi-billion dollar military satellites to find tupperware hidden in the woods... What do YOU do?
