I used to pretend to be a clone when the problem was really bad. Nobody would kill me. So fun. Now, I just wait on a cliff, and always win!
Not such a great tactic in my opinion..
Sure you might get the 5 points, but there are a LOT of points to be had in the field. At 2pts per kill and full health restored, it makes far more sense to be in amongst the action.
-Z-
Not to mention those of us who hunt the cliffdwellers when we go green. Although I will admit the game where me and the cliffdweller were the last two blues, and I hunted him down and we both tried to shove the other one up into the line of fire of all the greens was funny. LOL!
Blue sumo at the end of a round is fun stuff. XD
Useful info I could have used earlier, and explains some confusing gameplay. Thanks -z-!
So how long after I am shot by a blue is cliff diving still an effective way to respawn blue?

I dont think it's a case of how long.. If their tank still exists and hasn't died, you haven't been hit by someone else, and you haven't re-healed it should work. There may be a time-out period hardcoded in the game which I am not yet aware of though.

Another tactic: Eliminating the competition:
If you see a another blue player on the cliff edge, and you KNOW you haven't shot him/her, shove em off the cliff. You don't get transferred to green, and you are one player closer to the survivor bonus.

Shoving is a dangerous stunt. Misjudge and you go over instead of them. Tried to push Predator off a ledge last night, and wound up sailing right over his head. XD
Once again, -z- has out-done himself with another great mod. Finally had some time to play this yesterday and had a great time.
If it wouldn't violate copyrights, I'd suggest changing the name of the game from "Survivor" to "28 days later".... How about "28 seconds later" lol.
:)
LC50
"Last One Standing"
My trick is to stay on the very top of a very steep cliff. Then when a green comes I get like one shot on him and then drive up and hit him on the underside. That causes him to fly over me and into the fog--I get the point. I also like it when all the blues, in the very beggining, go by a cliff and try to shove eachother off at once, normally a few fall and the rest of them cliff hang. When a first tie player is in I will pester him till he shoots me, sometimes getting him down to 10% life, till he is frusterated and gives one little shot. Then I go and dive. Once someone got so mad they completely killed me. One thing I don't like is that the Big Pred BOT is TOO smart. SOmetimes when I am doing a sertain weaving running tactic and I am like half way across the map from him he still shoots me (Ben could not even do that) just because the computer says this bullet needs to hit. AND LC50 it probably is bad for copyrights eiher way!
Ah. I just don't cliffdwell. I ridgerun. Drive fullspeed around the perimeter of the map, only coming up onto the upper surface when I must. None of the bots are capable of following me, and since I'm below the edge, it's hard to get a shot at me. It does become a problem when one of the other players is good enough to follow though. *shrug* Cliffdwelling has it's hazards too.
As a member of the Blue team, I usually actively take part in the killing of greens right after the first blue dies, right up until there are about 3-4 blue's left. At that point I just start running around, killing any weakened greens I may find, and hit random arrow pads. I only resort to cliff-dwelling if I am absolutely surrounded by greens. I can usually score between 50-60 points per game this way. XD
~BC
Oh, should have clarified my statement: I kill as many Green tanks as I can until I'm seriously outnumbered or it's down to only 2 or 3 Blues, then I ridgerun.
Lol, me too, then cliff time!
I just wish they'd put rear-view mirrors on these tanks. *grin* It'd be nicer if I could see where I was going whilst driving backwards.
That would be COOl, a little square in the bottom of the screen, shoewing whta was behind you !!! G1

Funny story. I was playing survivor with aliens exist and some guy name conner kept focusing on us (following us while blue and killing only us while green). Well, one round he was like the first to die. And aliens exist and hiding on the edge. So when I saw this conner guys go for the edge, I started flowing him and when he went to slow down (so he wouldn't go off) I sped up and smashed him from behind and hit just as he was disapearing in the fog. Lol. It was hilarious. Then he was like "WTF! I couldn't stop! And why the hell did ice punk get the kill?" and I was like "Man you just got owned. I pushed you!". LOL!
I got really tired of Sloth racking up the points, so I weaken the blue heavies right off the bat (about 1 or 2 shots after smoking starts). It also makes the latter half of each round much more interesting (and speeds up the game) because usuallly there are several green heavies "taking out the garbage" amidst a sea of blue mediums and lights!

The best way to score in this game is to kill about two or three greens and the go hide
(some one may have already said this but I didnt feel like ready ALL of them)
On another point. There have been times when I haven't gotten a health right away and and died by the next person to shoot me. I have no tactic for this. I just wanted to complane. Lol.
Every once in a while, I'll kill a green and NOT get the health for it. :( Makes things very difficult.
I also have to be very careful about attacking Predator. I don't know if my threat rating is too high, or I'm doing too much damage to him all at once (unloading a burst), but he tends to turn on me very quickly when I attack him. And my light tank just can't take too many shots from him.
I agree, attacking Pred is not a good idea. It is better just to wait for Pred to kill other bots then kill them as they are really easy to kill!
I have found that if you hang back a bit and just shoot individual shots into him he will go after the more aggressive tanks. Of course, if EVERYBODY does this, he'll never die and you'll all be dead. %) It's also likely that you won't be the one to get the credit for killing him when he does go. So you need to strike a balance between the two.
Another tatic:
If you get shot by a team-mate on blue, dive off the cliff. They will go green for killing a teammate, and you will respawn, still blue.
Mu ha ha h a.
Why is Predator so hard to kill? How in the world does he take so many shots?
Are all heavy tanks that tough or is this one built differently?
He's built tougher. Originally he was just an ordinary Heavy Tank, and very easy to kill. Imagine my surprise the day -z- upgraded him. I got slaughtered. XD
... Well my favorite tactic is RUN AWAY!!! When evry1 is on the other side when the round statrs battlin predditer I run 2 the other side o the field and every1 forgets I was there :P ! Well untill there are 2 left then people use there radar... :'(
Well I don't have a favourite tactic. I use a variety lol. If I find PREDATOR [Bot] after me I run (as with human players) and hope they target another player, but if it's any other bot I just give em all a shot then cliffdwell!

@ Baby Clax
To score 50 to 60 points averge is impossible! I've scored that high a couple of times, but my averge, I wolud say is about some where between 35-45. I would say that I am in the top 20 best players of the game too! I generally win unless Ice Punk
,Tankster or the GOD HIMSELF -Z- is playing!!!!!!!! My highest score to date is 92! :)
And yes there where other players in fact if my memory is right the only bot was Pred (Bot)!
As far as my style of play,I do it all,I hunt,I push, I weaken some players only if I notice them shooting other teammates,I hate that almost as much as I hate those who go an cliffdwell right off the bat! If you cannot fight DON"T PLAY THE GAME!!!!
Yes I to cliff hang, but only when there is only 3-4 players left!

lo4
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Well my other tactic is stay of distance and snipe right afetr u hit em hide behind then they wonder who shot me and u can shoot in cosnito :)
Another funny story: I was blasting pred, then he turned to me and shot me (it was me and another blue left) one more shot and I would've died but hen I hid behind the last blue player besides me and he got shot.LOL! Yeah, I know that was evil but what can you do about it?
If all the guys die no boune.
If all the guys die no boune.
Another tactic: make -z- bring Survivor back!
C'mon, everyone can notice that from a mile away! Or can they? Eye'll look into it.
WE WANT SURVIVOR PLEASE -Z- XD
So killing your friend on a blue team, gets points? That's genious!!! :P
That's another whippersnapper belted by the feared AncientOne!
My opinion is the same as -z- 's, that would be a great battle to take part in. Make it plzz
I MISS SUVIVOR!
Well I guess I came to TT a little late I dont know what survivor is But.. Its sounds sooooooo cool B)
Wish we had it to play
Freedom(UF)DAS(W)
LOL!!!
Aliens Exist...
This whole time I though it was Alien Sexist!!! LOL!!!
I thought that was a really weird name....
It's like those inkblot tests, you see what you want to see...
LOL, I'm an idiot. :S :o 8o
Here's a tacitc I really love, that noone has mentioned yet. A great counter for folks smokin ya while you're blue so you've only got a shot or 2 left...
Once you're really beat up, find some1 who's shooting at a green, drive in front of them and get them to accidently kill you. You respawn and they go green, AND they think its their fault!!!! XD <evil laugh> XD
This works great towards the begginning of the game.
;)

Thought I would start a new topic for the new game type..
There are a few things to bear in mind.
You score more as blue than you do as green, and there is always the hope of getting the survival bonus for being the last blue alive.
If you are killed by a green, or kill a blue team-mate, or kill yourself, you become green.
However.. If you are shot by a blue team member, and then you cliff dive, and IF they are still blue when the fog kills you, you will be re-spawned and they will turn green due to a team-kill. Useful tactic, but a dangerous one. If they turn green before you die, it will count as a hunters kill and you will also become green.
Likewise, if you have accidentally let some friendly fire hit a team-mate, and you see them going for the cliff-dive, and seeming as you will therefore become green anyway.. It is probably worth your while trying to die before they get killed by the fog. That way, when they die they will be killed by a hunter (as you have just become one) and will also become green.
Also note, that killing a green player (when blue) will give you a health powerup and will re-heal you. Thus, there are a lot of points to be gained from battle kills, particularly early on in the game.
If anyone has any further notes, tactics or suggestions, feel free to post them :)
