I would like to get a forum for my MM, I plan to start recruiting soon.

All in due time Filbert, there are only so many hours in a day. B) However, once the kinks are worked out of the forum code it will only be a short while until all the other forum types are up and running.

Armies and leagues are next on my agenda once the forums are working and the main bugs are ironed out. Stay tuned - shouldn't be long :)

Lol! Im sure Ben (SA) will be happy!

Hmmm. I have already got SA in my regestered army forum system. If he chooses to change his mind, I will gladly go along with it.

Hey, I could just shut down NTTFS and host my mods and stuff here! I wonder if -z- could open up a "Fan Site" forum for all the fansites his site bashed down because all the traffic goes here.

Once I get over my flaming rage, I should become a valuable member of the community.

I'm not trying to 'bash' or 'trash' any fan sites. The more that there are, the better.

What I am doing however, is trying to formalise the league tables and events in such a way that they can be automatically scheduled, (ie without having to constantly and manually update score tables etc) and have in-game result directly fed into the league tables and so on.

Also, the GG forums are pretty inflexible and as we have all seen, the moderation and functionality of them isn't the best for players to use.

Once I have finished most of the forum coding and so on, then the skins / mods sections will be updated and will allow members to post previews of skins and mods and links to the sites that have them etc. If anything, that should help increase traffic to the various fan sites.

Well, my forums have been utter disaster since Planet ThinkTanks Forums opened, and and my site has recieved at least 75% less hits since the beginning of Planet ThinkTanks. 0% came from the link you provided in your fansites area.

But, that's OK. Because this is the OFFICIAL thinktanks site, fansites are still needed :P

Fan sites are definately still needed. Thats where people pay their own tribute to the game, post their screenshots, their own help guides, modding tutorials and so on. The more of them that there are, the more likely more people will find out about the game.

Not only that, but NTTFS has a mod crew right? Well what I have planned for the mods / skins section of this site, is not necessarily to host all files here (I will do for those who dont have sites or anywhere else to put them) but to provide a kind of database of all the different mods, who did them and so on. Perhaps event a 'mods' news feature which announces, and shows teasing shots of, the mods/skins along with the details of those involved with creating them and directs them to where they can get them.

Personally, I'd like to see a few more 'mod crews' who provide the whole package.. Not just the odd tank, but sets of them ie light, medium and heavy skins bundled together as a set along with brains, and tracks to match. Not just one terrain texture, but all four lush textures alongside the trees and rocks to match them. All bundled up as a set along with a readme file with instructions on where the files go and the credits of who made them etc.

The main idea for PTT is that if someone is looking through the mod/skins library on this site, they see all the different categories and thumbnail images of how the objects look. If that object is part of a set, it will say so and provide a link to the full set. Therefore, you might see (in someones screenshot) a nice looking scrum, have a look in the skins library for scrums, find the thumbnail which matches the one you first noticed, and then find out who did it, where to get it, and what other items they have skins for. The plan is that people can submit their preview images of skins along with some basic info and a web link etc and they are automatically added to the searchable database.

The main purpose of this site is to provide a community area (in many respects, the TT community has outgrown the GG developer forums). Things like rankings / automated leagues and a proper army system where people can register there army and see how it ranks against other armies and so on. Whilst I have put all my original mod help files on the site, and have a mods section, that is not the primary focus, but I want to help encourage people to create their own mods and skins etc and to make it easier for people to share them, find out where to get them, see what's available etc.

Oh.. And it your stats say 0%, then I think there's something wrong. I know I have followed that link a few times myself instead of trying to remember the url or even where I put the shortcut (in my hundreds of badly-organised favourites).
