Well somebody give us their IP and Port to connect to in client prefs.cs then....hurry everyone is going like crack-heads for TT lol

How do you do that?..........I want my TT wahhh..sniff sniff tears running down face snot running out of my nose..Hyperventalating now....husband calls the ambulance..
I'm now in the emergency room with leads running to my heart to keep it going....
I'm dying without my TT..Please help before I go!!!

Open game/client/prefs.cs and find this line:

$pref::Master0 = "2:master.garagegames.com:28002";

After that line put this:

$pref::Master1 = "IP:PORT";

If You want more put this:

$pref::Master2 = "IP:PORT";

Etc.. Remember we need the REAL HOSTER IP that is unsafe to give out and the IP port,
These 2 together are an easy way to hack computers

If You want more put this:

$pref::Master2 = "IP:PORT";
What do we do? Do we do
$pref::Master2 = "My IP:The four numbers after my IP";? I'm confusedddddd

Art, I tried it for my leeds mods server as a test, but it didn't show up in my server list. Standard TT servers use port 28000, right?

Ok I got the IP:PORT thing but do we put
$pref::Master1 = "IP:PORT";
and this?
$pref::Master2 = "IP:PORT";
Or just one? Please help I NEED MY TT TO LIVE!!!!!!! Oh yeah do we take it out when we're over this?

What does one change them to, pray tell? What must the server runner change the server prefs to? And what should the server runner change the client prefs to?

This would be a good opportunity for Mac users to step forward and put their money where their mouths are. OS X is completely impervious to attacks after all, isn't it?

Good point. I host leeds mods 24/7 and the server IP is 68. 54. 54. 10 and the port should be 28000, I think. If anyone can connect to it let me know, and if I need to change the prefs, let me know that too! Good luck!

I don't think that anyone from TT will hack the machine. They all love TT, the hackers, jerks, the TT addicts, and the closest semblence of normal peeps whe have here.. If they do... Well... I just finished my full backup of it. Sorry for ruining your flame war topic there... :P I was getting tired of seeing the sending heartbeat to master server message on that console window and no responce from it. If we're lucky, somebody will be able to connect to it, and figure the problem out.

Umm.... Has anybody figured out how they can connect to a server directly? I posted the dratted IP and the port for goodness sakes! Somebody figure it out!!! PLEASE!

Ben - I can ping your server via command line. I'm trying to figure out how to connect, however I'm thinking we're not going to be able to because...

A. When a server is created it has to validate itself against the master server.

B. When we join a server the master server validates who we are before allowing us to join (demo, paying customer, etc). Unless we know what is being passed around you're server won't know who I am.

Mind you these are assumptions.

Glad you can ping it, I think that the identification has nothing to do with the master server... At least, that's what it seems like, from some of dash's scripts... A is what bugs me. Could I maybe get it to validate itself against another computer?

Race. We know. It's a symptom of a very recently discovered deseise called "ThinkTanks Denial" and it causes a person to go insane if they cannot go online in TT. Now, if you have any brilliant ideas on how to re-write half on TT into a non-centrilized computer-to-computer server scheme, they'd be more than welcome...

Rats... I haven't played TT in a month... But somehow, knowing that it isn't there waiting patiently for me makes me crazy.
Suddenly I have a feeling much like claustrophobia... I feel like I am trying to swim and am not quite able to keep my head above the water..... I feel dead inside and my body is decaying more and more for every moment that TT is not running.
