Miles Davis here.

As I get bored with all the hifi gear you can buy at the shops (including the iPod) and as I am not going to burn piles of money for what I call a seriuos hifi... Well... I build my own. Here is my last one. It costs me something like 2000 euro or so. OH! I use tubes... Don't talk about transistors and MOSFETs with me.

Here is the protopype.

Any preference for the finishing touches? Shall I paint it in red? Black? What about a red velvet & wood? Or leather?

Nice work Io !

I would put it in a clear perpex case so you can see all the tubes and always be able to admire your work.

BTW - Tool fan here... New album out last weekend...listened to nothing else all day today.

WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL WITH THOSE CAPACITORS???
very nice piece of stuff. I've never seen that cable-braiding technique before, I might just try it for myself
and as for what I listen to...

I love my randylion

Buy this stuff?? I would be asked to pay something like 10000USD for something using these tubes (I said 10000USD and even more). I took a few measurements and it is working great!! Much better than my previous amp. Probably it will not be as look as a commercial amp.... Look at these eyecandies

It is going to weight 30kg (each channel!!!). Anyone for some help to move the beast?

Perpex? May be an option! OH! Tubes need to be ventilated as they are really HOT-HOT-HOT

Now I am listening to it... Should I play TT and plug my mac onto it?? Should I?

NIИ. Mr. Self-Destruct is one of my favorite songs, The Fragile tops my playlist. As for the hi-fi, that's... Original. I build my own synths for fun, but with solid-state components. I could probably do the same thing with Audacity, but it's fun to build them.
