Good Ol' TS. I use it a lot when im playin BF2 with my clan, it comes in handy more often than not (which is never!) I've done something a little like this, with the earbuds underneath my headset, but that was when I wanted to listen to music and not take up any processing power.
You really need a headset with closed headphones for voice chatting while playing TT or your neck's going to get sore.
Instead of a mic, I use a pair of Ipod headphones, 2 cable adapters, an AC adapter, a cable, and an overdrive/distortion pedal from my guitar to act as an amplifier since just regular headphones makes you really really quiet...
One of the cable adapters changes the signal to Mono, so all I have to do is tape the left headphone to my collar and voila! B)
Not having a mic is no excuse :P
And the best part? My neck doesn't get sore :P
Edit: my skype = chaosbishop

^ a fellow McGuyver.
^ wait wait.... After declaring TS has delay you say it is better than a voice chat without any?
Skype is better than TS because you dont need any servers.
Also, there is no delay with skype... Virtually instant. Give maybe a half of a second with a good connection.
You can talk to whoever you want on skype as long as they are online, no "servers".
The sound quality on TS is horrible compared to skype also.
The only real limit on skype is the number of participants that can be in a single conference.
But the way I see it, TS has waaaay more limits than skype does.
Thats one of the reasons that I always disliked skype, everytime it starts it creates its own server. The nice part about about TS is that you can specify how many bytes you want to use. Obviously, the clearer the sound the more bytes.
I tried TeamSpeex with BC. I found it annoying. I'd talk and then three seconds later I'd hear my own Bobby Brady sounding voice repeat what I had just said. I also could here BC's sound and my sound from the game. When both of us were playing in a server at the same time I could not hear him at all.
Any advice for TeamSpeex prefs that may help a little or a lot?
I also had my TT sound and music turned off but could still hear it.
EDIT: I can no longer turn my sound off at all on TT. Anyone else having this problem. I'm on a Mac if that helps.
Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.
Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

Lol BC and Rouge : is it possible I heared you guys talking? :P
Sorry did a reboot and forgot to restart....
I don't like people talking to me when I'm trying to drive and shoot
Sorry but I liked to not here your voices dont you think it would be kind of weird your in a server with some1 you admire and then you hear them and they sound like they are 6 years old.
I echo in Skype too so I think its the crappy USB/analog device I'm using.
The older versions of Skype had echo cancellation settings in the audio prefs. I guess it's built-in now. Might find some help in here BC.

They have a link you can use to test your audio settings.
Has anyone looked at the gizmoproject.com ? Looks to be similiar to skype.
From previous games there has been as much as 22 players on a teamspeak server at once (minimum)
the echo u hear is because some idiot is holding down there button to speak mine is # so when I hold down # and some1 els is speaking it will create a shadow voice for every1 in the server thats why it was a bit choatic on hunts when there was 3 of us trying to speak
that is the only way u can get a echo/shadow of some1's voice

Here's what I've figured out about voice chatting while playing TT:
Skype and Teamspeak both use some of your computer's processor, so you need a late model computer to use them while playing TT. To ballpark that, I have a dual 1 GHZ Mac and TT can use up to 100% of at least one of the processors in a full 10 player game. Teamspeak uses 12% of one processor, so I'd never want to use it during a league game just in case it might start lagging me. I don't know how much Skype uses, but its probably more than Teamspeak.
Ideally you would run Skype or Teamspeak on a seperate computer with earbuds so you could hear the TT game at the same time. Skype has free "Skype-out" calling in the US and Canada through the end of the year. That means a Skype user who's set up with "Skype-out" (me :)) can initiate a conference call to 4 other participants on their regular "land-line" phones or though their computer via the Skype app. You really need a headset with closed headphones for voice chatting while playing TT or your neck's going to get sore.
