It started out as a good game. I was scoring half-decently in a server against Rogue, Belikin, and TeamKilla. Half-decently meaning I finished with 5 or 6. The second game was... Interesting. It was on Frantic, and I was able to get up to 3 in a few minutes.
Then, the nuisances started.
I was about to go in for an easy kill, when, without any warning whatsoever, TT minimized itself. For no reason. Then, after 10 seconds, it was able to maximize itself again, and the game went on- with drastically wrecked framerates. But that wasn't all. Something called "TrueVector Service", a tray app I didn't even know existed, decided to crash. The box took me ten more seconds to close, and the game went on, with MUCH less health than before.
Then, all of the sudden, my machine rebooted. What the HELL was that?
From now on, if you see me on TT, it WILL be on Linux. As soon as I find a half-decent distro that'll work on it. I heard Sabayon's awesome, but it runs AIGLX, and my system has issues with that.

I hear xandros is a good osx but I never got around to testing it
so I dont know fo sure..

Anyway, good luck with that, and let me know if it works out.

Been wanting to change myself but I have to much software
invested just to dump it all for a new osx.

Similar has been happening to me. If I leave for a few seconds (To get a drink, pee, or even LOAD A MAP!) it minimizes, maximizes (Sometimes you need to manually alt+tab it) and lags really bad for around 2 minutes, then my whole machine hoses.

This has been since I installed RollerBall

Elite Agent And Proud Member of the Terror Squad.

Nothing happens to mine and I use Windows.

I even had to wait an hour once for Paradise Found Again and nothing bad happened.

That would be my parents. I've decided to try Xandros OCE eventually; I've heard good things about it. I've heard even better things, however, about Ubuntu Edgy. Particularly, that it's mad-leet ownership. I can confirm this, and I need material for my review of Ubuntu Edgy.
What flavor, though? Ubuntu? Kubuntu? Or Xubuntu? Maybe even Fluxbuntu, just for a change. Mint? Advice?

Mac OS X: $99.
New Mac to run it on: $599.
Linux: $0.
Being able to kick @$$ again in PTT: Priceless.
Being able to kick a certain Mac fanboy's @$$ back into reality in one post: Also priceless.
There are some things in life I don't have enough money to buy. For everything and the KitchenSync, there's Linux.

What are you talking about, that has nothing to do with what operating system you have on. It may have an impact on what you put on your computer. I have used both OSs. They both preform the same when playing thinktanks.

Yeah. It is for everything else windows sucks. Games, they have clear. I will give them that. I haven't found anything else they can do that macs cannot, though.

Unfortuanely, "everything else" includes running smoothly without crashing. ;) :P

What Cadc said is rite. XD wy are you going to blame your software. Its you that put in all sorts of junk in your computer. 8o Well don't be blaming your computer. ;)

Listen to this man!!!

Mac's pwn PC's...blegh.... Linux pwns Mac. Suck on that.

I'm sticking with Windows since it works for what I want it to do. :)..that's the important thing. I ain't changing browser or operating system just for fads.

The only problems I have with it are due to either my college connection (to the internet), or to the crappy anti-virus they have me install (which I will uninstall and replace with a better one over break to clean up my computer).

Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 11:31:26 AM

Alrighty, here it is: your moment of zen. Cadc's right, but most of the apps Windows was running when I had this lovely experience, I didn't put on there (blame my parents for that). ZoneAlarm? Not me, and I shut it down. Last.fm and Skype? Okay, that was me, but I shut both of them down. I looked at what the Task Manager said, and there wasn't much bloatware running- save Windows itself. (BURN!) I'll try SymphonyOS (a new version just came out yesterday) and openSUSE (I've had bad experience with it, but 10.2's supposed to be good)- I think it's time to move on from Ubuntu, "Microvell" deal aside.

Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 12:00:25 PM

^ Even if you close all applications, there are malicious programs that will still run on your computer "undetected" by task manager, only way to detect them, and clean them off your system is to D-load Spybot, or Run Windows anti virus, and clean your system..

Oh, and you might consider De fragmenting and properly shutting down and Restarting your computer every other month :P (J/k, should be rebooted properly every time)

@ Feathers and Ronak= Thx for heaing me out B)

*cough* useless to say we ain't got spywares and pop-ups with Macs /*cough*

Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 1:14:55 PM

^ If I understand correctly what you're trying to say then, You're wrong

**..::I am thoroughly... amused:::..**

Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 1:27:33 PM

^ Apple dealt with it. Unlike PC's, they can focus on just one...

Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.

Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 1:37:15 PM

Because focusing on one would be pointless B)

**..::I am thoroughly... amused:::..**

Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 1:43:39 PM

^ Because there are so many. You just proved my point XD Mac, though...

Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.

Oh, and you might consider De fragmenting your computer every other month

Always do. My Linux partition keeps switching hands anyways, so it gets reformatted every month or so.

Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 5:21:12 PM

^^ Do not worry, Mac's day will come, I assure it ;)

**..::I am thoroughly... amused:::..**

Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 5:31:34 PM

Of course it will! But then they will make OSXI and it will be better again ;)

Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.

Get em while they're hot..

Sunday, December 17, 2006 at 11:46:41 AM
