Travis, that would be pushing torque to its very limits. In theroy TGE can handle 128 players. To accomplish this you would need a T3 connection and an extremely large, custom terrain. Neither of these can be done easilly, due to TGE's terrain limitations and the fact that none of us are gonna pay for a 600mbps connection

Ok I c how about 50 people

I can do that, though extreme lag would be in effect...

Lol, I think the most your going to get is maybe 6-12 depending on which people have the best connection and out of those people, who will host that server.

12 people is as high as you can get on my comp.

Once there was 20 people on one server, and the lag was so incredible that I was suspended in mid-air!

Ok people lemme clear this up 4 you. I have a 1.25mbps connection and the max I can handle is about 12 - 16 people before the lag is killer. You would need a connection of about 100mbps to handle 50 people. There ya go all cleared up.

I have a 10 mbps connection, and I can only take 6, maybe 7 or 8 on a good day.

I think he means upstream, could be wrong. :)

Because my ADSL says the same thing.

Thats the speed your network card is clocked at. Not dataflow.

Um excuse me all but I just want to tell you that, that has been done! If any1 has seen the MOD

Everyone COme and Play!

That had 100 people

And just yesterday I saw some huge battle arena that had 255 PEOPLE!!! I am telling you that It can be done and give it some time I will make it for you! XD

Monday, June 21, 2004 at 7:22:02 PM

Hello,that is NOT possible. I saw it too,and it's LIMIT was 255.

Plus,I already made a map that size.

Monday, June 21, 2004 at 7:26:28 PM

I know so you aggree there could be that many people!

Monday, June 21, 2004 at 7:28:36 PM

There could, except the lag would be so high that everyone couldn't even move!

Monday, June 21, 2004 at 7:30:52 PM

No every1 come and play was good but I have comcast...

255 people would be too much for TGE networking code. The game would crash if it goes much above 120 people per server. The most ive ever seen on any TGE game was 62 which was on an extremely fast server with a fast connection.

I have 100Mbps and I see lag sometimes with 10 players. There is something in the TGE networking code (doubt it) or the ThinkTanks game which can cause lag even when cpu, memory and bandwidth consumption are low.

On a 4 processor machine with 4 GB memory

Cpu: 2%

Memory: 10%

Bandwidth consumption: 2 Mbps

AND STILL LAG! ARGH!

Well maybe... Just have a dedicated server and TT open or just TT open!

Damn u ppl with DSL cable!!!!! Wat about us lonely 56kers? We can only fit 3 ppl in our server including ourselves!

*sigh*it brings a tear to my eye.... ;)
