Heh, that config sounds like my machine. :)
For TT, most newer GFX cards are fine. I have a Geforce 4 TI in this machine and get more than enough speed. My older machine has a Geforce FX 5200 (Which is a low end budget card, I wouldn't go any lower than that.) Both machines with these cards handle TT just fine. The older TI cards are slightly faster than the low end FX's. (Go figure.) I would avoid the old MX cards.
Of course Bolo will be in shortly to tell you to get an ATI, but for me the Nvidia's work fine as long as I use these older drivers:

Unless you buy a top of the line card, the newer drivers seem to hurt more than they help...
I was thinking of going with an ATI RADEON 9800 256MB but I dont want to spend that much without testing it (and there is no hope of doing so because no computer store for many miles from here) so thats why I wanted to ask here. :)

Buy the one that is supported by the most games. I get this one thinking it was good, but no games were supported for it.
Try Radeon 400 (I think that is $200 bucks) and its worked like a charm for me in my HI QUALITY GAMES! (EX: Command & Conquer Generals)
Hope that helps ;)

If it helps any, after I upgrade im getting farcry, and will probably be playing that alot.
Listen to CAD.....get the ATI 128MB card for around $200. Its the 2nd best card ATI makes....u dont need the 256MB for TT or any other game I have seen (yet)...
Nvidia makes great hardware. Their drivers are really aggressive and suck up a lot more resources.
As soon as this next contract starts im gonna ebay my nvidia 128 and get the ati 128
(note there are 3 ati 128 versions...the most expensive one $200 is the best cause it has a better pipeline and video proc specs)
(this is using IL best buy as a reference)

Ill check it out, thanks Cad and B.
Jacob is right, I had a 12 year old macintosh, no hardware replaced, no upgrades, no nothing. I was playing starcraft: Brood Wars on it for about 2 years before my brother broke the moniter with a baseball bat... Mac's rule! Seriously, think about it, a 12 year old computer, this was like 3 years ago, and it was running starcraft xpac with no lag! Even online! Now that's amazing.
I also suggest goin' all out and buying a Mac a.k.a. Real Computer! You'll wish you had years ago after you do.
If someone broke my monitor with a baseball bat they would have a new monitor hat

And a flat head to go with it if it ws mine. :)
Not to mention glass sticking out of their face.
I have a radeon 4500 I think... It's in the upper quartile of "eliteness" compared to most, and is relatively inexpensive. I'm not sure about under 200 though... For under that I would go to
Www.pricewatch.com.... It will take a lot of browsing, but there are ungodly deals ;)

Well after 5 months with this computer I need a new graphics card. So my question is whats a good card for around or under $200? Right now I have:
AMD Athlon XP 2800+
NVIDIA® nForce2
512 MB DDR
NVIDIA® GeForce4 MX
120 gig HD
So, got any suggestions? Also I can only spend around $200 because I am upgrading to 1 gig of ram also.
