OK, I was playing counter strike 1.6 one day and thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be cool to do this with tanks?"

It's a bit complicated so listen up.

There's two teams. Green, the bad guys, are trying to bomb a target, which to do that, a member of the team must sit inside a green CTF goal placed somewhere on the map for 10 seconds, after that it will turn red and a timer counting down from 30 will count down to 0, once it gets to 0 then green will get a point and a new round will start. Now what Blue, the good guys are trying to do, is defend the bomb area and defuse the bomb if it gets planted, which means sitting inside the CTF goal for 10 seconds, and if they defuse the bomb then blue gets an instant 1 point and a new round will start.

If all members of either team die then the team that has members will get a point and the round will start over. Once you die you go into observer and float around until a new round starts.

This will need maps. They should be urban style maps and de_dust style maps. An office map would be cool too. They should have crates etc to hide behind. They should have designated paths with walls and buildings etc to block people from going off the path. That is where we will need modelers.

The maps should contain no health power ups, but there will be power ups that give you ammo, and that's it. At each teams spawn area there will be four tank changers. One gives you heavy prefs, one light prefs, one ufo prefs and one medium prefs.

I will configure the tank prefs myself. All will have the Light model except Heavy. Heavy will have sniper prefs (not much ammo but a one hit kill) Light will have a standard SMG or silenced rifle prefs (30 bullets per clip, with 2 clips,) medium will have a stationary machine gun pref type (lots of ammo, fires fairly fast but runs out of ammo fast. Slower tank.) baby boss will be a bust fire assault rifle style prefs. (three shots per burst, 20 bullets per clip, two clips) The players will also die fast like in the real counter strike.

The tank view should be first person, although if a toggle might be possible, there should be both third person and first person.

So basically I need people to do maps and modeling, and scripting the gametype. I can do the rest of it myself. (Skins and tank prefs, packaging it up, hosting, co-ordiating etc)

If anyone wants to help work on this, just post here or drop me an email. (email in profile) I am pretty sure this is possible, so let's get to work and make this a fun gametype!

Yea, it's possible... Pretty hard on the modelling/mapping side, buth possible nonetheless... I'll help if I can :)

I really cant now... I can give help on scripts other people make, but for another week, I can't script anything (no tools NOR time)

Yup, possible... A mix of Ekker's camera switcher's first person view with a little code DJ Wings has... I know what it is, but I'm too lazy to get it.
PS: There will be a need of some files in the client side to have this

The server I will host will be locked, and in the predownload pack it will have the password into the server in a file.

I'll start hacking up your CTF script tonight and see what I can do. (not much)

The tank changers, tank prefs and scripts are fairly easy-ish. The real hard map are the maps. I can't just modify medulla mesa or something. I need people to help me with the models (espescially the models!), mission and the terrain.

TO MAP CONTRIBUTORS:

Here is a map of de_dust2 from counter strike. Green things are crates. Notice how the bomb areas are close to the counter terrorist area? This is perfect. (we'll use only one bomb area though) We should use this map as a example, and make ours similar to this map.

I have the normal one, but I rarely play. I got bored of it real fast.

I'm not into tactical FPSs but instead fast twitch FPSs, like enemy territory. I've been playing that a lot lately.

Racer 1 problem. Y not make your mod so you can buy weopons in sted of starting with them. Like real counter strike

You start with $10,000 money.

Tanks, Light tank $1,000, baby UFO $500, Medium tank $2,450, Heavy $5,500.Boss UFO $10,500.

Weopons, Speedey Shot $1,200, Bouncy $2,500, Area $5,500, 1 hit kills $8,500.

extra ammo,50 ammo for speedy $50, 8 plasma bouncys 1,000, 2 electric Areas $4,500, 1 1 hit kills $9,000.

Bot team mates (option), tanks are free, exept Boss UFO which is $5,000. Gold head $5,000, silver head $2,500, bronze head $1,000.

Kills, kill light tank $500, kill medium tank $1,000, kill heavy tank $2,000, kill baby UFO $50, kill boss ufo $5,000.

Helping, save hostage brain $500 each, there are 4 hostages per level.

There is the money, buy, and get money list, enjoy %)
