-Well, I have decided to make a tutorial on Posting in PTT. Well, you might think it's a tad stupid, but many new members have been posting in odd ways, with about 20 '!'s in the post to express supposed enthusiasm. Well, this is where I come in. I'm will be making this in every forum (I think it's worth it) after getting permission of other PTT members. So tell me if you agree or disagree. Now lets get down to buisness.

1.) ---TOPIC TITLES---
--> O.K. Topic Titles are very essential in getting you post recognized. For instance, if your title is:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HELPHELPHELPHELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I Guarentee absolutely noone is going to bother with that thread and 'HELPHELPHELPHELP'ing you. Not only is it annoying, it is vauge and hard to understand. Along with spamming our forums, it also makes the entire page wider, and that is really irritating.
-->Here is an example of a good TOPIC TITLE:
How do I make the fog color brown?
Notice it is understandable and has correct grammar? Also note that it isn't Vague, you know excactly that the person wants to learn. Also note that there is only one puctuation mark, not 50.
--> This is a very important part to posting correctly on PTT.

2.) ---POSTS---
--> Yes post's are the body of your Thread. A very important aspect to posts is that they should not read:
"The title explains."
And leave it at that. Make your Topic Title tell the basic point of your thread, and explain everything else in the post. Also make sure that your post is very specific. It should leave nothing out so that you don't end up with everyone else reading your post and asking questions that could have been solved by being more specific. Here is an example of a good post:

I don't understand excactly how to change the fog, but am guessing this has something to do with it. Thank you for taking time out of your busy squedule's to tend to my needs!

3.) ---Language Essentials---
-->This is probably the most imperative part to Threads. You wouldn't believe how many people have no sence in proper grammar! I will start by cover puctuation.
-->First, make sure you don't have any more '!'s or '?'s than you need. Also, (OMG I hate this), please, please, PLEASE, use punctuation. Many people post like this:
Well thats a great mod I really like it its soooooooo cool send it to me please please please my email is "needstotakekindergarten@pre-scooltyper.net" wow thats cool thats bi bi
Now tell me if you could completely understand that the first, third, eighth, or even twentyth time of reading it over, it truly makes no sense.
-->Another grammatical error is that some people don't spell correctly enough to understand. Such as:
Dat's so cewl foo cya hommy 'or' PEEEZ hep me wit de mod peez!?!?!
I'm pretty sure we're not all geto and if some of us are, we don't need to type like it! And we're definetly old enough and smart enough to use words that don't involve 3 year olds. Anyone who made a PTT account and logs onto it almost every day can spell better than that.
Everything else I can think of is pretty obvios. ;)

-->Well, all the same rules of grammer and posting above apply here. Please be VERY specific and help in every way possible. Also don't keave the person hanging with something like:
MODDINGRESOURCE
When there post said:
I check the modding Resource thoroughly and could not find it there.
And if you think your teaching them a lesson, your not, your simply telling them to ask more and more. As much as it pains you, even if it means giving a specific link, do it. You can add something like: "please look deaper in the forums, because that question has been answered before."

Thank you for taking the time to read this tutorial. Follow these guidlines and you will find that people will indeed respect you better and answer your questions more often!
Another quick tid-bit is that you should not use derrogitory language or say anything harmful in anyway that can be pointed out to that person in a nicer less confrentational way. This is very important!
