Lol, well, I've never seen THAT message before, with the demo thingy.... Try re-entering the server.
I get it all the time. Your terrain or art doesn't match the server's.
No, read his quote, it said his demo version has expired.

Trying join to a MOD? Downloading bar stops to loading for a while? The problem is that... You have already downloaded a file which name is same as you're trying to download now. Which will cause this problem, as you queted above.
How to get rid of this error? You need to create temporitary folder and move there all the files which you have downloaded from other people. Example if you already have a terrain file which is named newTerrain.ter and the server which you're trying to join uses also terrain called newTerrain.ter, but it's not actually the same terrain, only the name is same. You'll need to move the terrain other direction or delete it away. And the game will work.
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

I was going to a server (MOD) :o I compleate download but later I saw this drop message:
