John's server has never been up, he just picked a server already up when he started this thread.
However he should be hosting his own server soon

Oh, war, how is that email coming along?

What advantage does this have over a regular yahoo or skype conference?

Skype costs money.
And I dont think you can use Yahoo ingame...

Teamspeak can be used while playing games, surfing the net, etc.
One server can have many different "Channels" so people in different servers/teams/whatever can talk without the others hearing... You can have as many channels as you want.
The only downside to Teamspeak is some people cant mess around with the settings correctly... If you can customize the settings and have them work just right, Teamspeak is awesome.

Dont take my word for it tho... I have never used yahoo's thing and I dont own skype (Although my father does...)

^ true you can also use yahoo, msn and aim

I have used yahoo and skype both while playing in games. I'm not aware that either costs money. Typically I sue another machine for voice. I only run TT on the machine I'm playing on. 1 for voice, and 1 for TT. Keep em seperate. No drain on either, just sharing the net connection that way.

New Server up and running
I tried using it with my linksys router but I know I have to go through port forwarding so I might aswell just use my normal router
