Its a Xpack for everything you'll ever need for TT

First off, it's NOT an Xpack, it is more of a pre-download package. The Xpack is the name of napalms eXpansion Pack. The latest one is over 300mb and has EVERYTHING the average player (not modder) would need to hop on a modded server and play some games.

Note that a lot of things in your download pack depend on stuff from, as nap said in another thread, HIS expansion pack!

Personally I can see why he is angry. He spent loads of time making his Xpack and then you come and call yours a Xpack. This could easily make things strange for new players who do not know of any other Xpack, then download yours and find they have to download MORE stuff to get into a mod server.

With your "Xpack" it's download extract copy copy copy play download download download play (repeat for another server.) With naps xpack it's download extract copy copy copy play. Get what I'm saying?

I could also go to the very handy MODDING resource, download Mod Wizard, which is a much much smaller download than your "Xpack." Save it to my hard drive, extract install and play. Then you can keep it for future use if anything happens to it again.

Also it says it has everything right? It says even skins. I only see one small thing of skins in it.

I have nothing against you. However you made something with the same name as an already popular mod package. Same thing applies to nokta.

IMO just don't advertise it as an "Xpack." The official Xpack made by nap is over 300mb and does have everything needed to play, not mod, play.

Why don't you make a pack that has all the modding stuff in it? I think that would be pretty handy. Just don't call it an Xpack.

What if this were you when you made your first script or add-on? How would you feel to have this happen to you.

It did happen. And I let it just roll off me. I handle these things by filtering out the negatives and going through the constructive criticism and positive comments.

Let's combine this thread with the one in the general fourm, shall we?

Radi8©, Nobody is putting you down for trying to help. What they are doing is trying to help you understand that the name is specific to an existing download and confusion will occur if another pack (that is different in nature) is sitting out there.

As I said in other threads, I like what your doing, you just need to name it more specifically.

For example, Nokta just remaned his Mod pack. Rx already has soemthing called mod_Pack so that just make it even more confusing to have 3 xpack or 2 mod packs. People understand what are downloads represent and it's been clear up to this point. Just name your stuff something descriptive to the function of the collection and to yourself.

Easy as Pie!
:O)

So if I just rename iit to "The_TT_Resource" that will be fine?

That doesn't really describe what it's for. But that's just my opinion. I have no issue with that. Thanks for working with me on this.

@ Rad I dont to want to get into a flame war but why dont you call it what it is scripts and stuff for TT, then in the thread also list what is included then people can clearly see what it is instead of wasting time downloading stuff they may not need.

I downloaded it and was very dissapointed at what was in there, there was nothing of benefit for me and besides the zip had many errors when I inzipped the file, may be worth checking these finer points before you release things.

Its easy to get a bad name for releasing poor quality things but harder to get a good name for great quality things as people expect things to work first time every time especially the less computer litterate people and believe me the last thing you want is to have people complaining to you and needing support all the time.

It's also a tough act to follow when people like Rx, and others release downloads that have never failed as long as I have been playing the game. People here are used to solid reliable help by other who give much of themselves.
