If you already had this problem with the graphics, tell me plz. Here's the dillema: I GET ONLY ONE (1) GRAPHIC LEVEL. And it's on high when I set it on high, medium, AND low! That's not the only problem... :( when I play at times with a resolution of 800 X 600 and 32 Bits of color, the ground at times is covered by a "mirage-like" fog that changes slightly in color when I move. It does go away when I approach the "mirage" though, just like on a highway on a hot day. Someone tell me how 2 fix this, quick... I'm getting all-the-lag-I-can-get from this!

Can you post a screenshot of what is happening? Also post your system specs, and note if you have modified any of the default settings in any of the files.

While playing, press 'CTRL' and 'P' to take a screenshot. They will be saved in the ThinkTanks folder as PNG images.

As for your graphics card: Right click on your desktop and choose 'Properties' from the menu. Click on the 'Settings' tab, and choose 'Advanced' then click on the 'Adapter' tab. That should tell you exactly what graphics card you have.

I have noticed the mirage-like effect before. What I've witnessed doesn't seem to really affect much. I'm on XP as well - no clue what my graphics card is tho. It's mostly rendering a piece at long range.

To post graphics you need to host them on a server, and insert the links to them in here.

I have a very strong suspicion that its down to your onboard SiS graphics chip not being up to the job, but best wait for the BraveTree guys to see what they say.

We reponded directly with a support email. Our supposition is the same. The onboard grapics chip is just not up to the task. Try updating your drivers or seraching online for an information about this chip to improve performance, or pick up a Geforce2MX, they are pretty cheap these days.

Ok... Good news, bad news time. Good news... I just came up with a tempoary fix: set the following options to 620 X 480 resolution and 16 Bit color. Bad news... Don't have the kind of money for that video card yet!! :o

I should complain. Look at my graphics:

Yes. That black thing is my tank and those black rocks are supposed to be the CTF goal.

Hmm.. What kind of card are you running? We have seen some instances of the fogging being reversed on certain cards with the latest drivers. This might be a realted issue.

The system requirements for thinktanks were based on the shapes and textures in each mission staying in their respective mission types. When people start modding, using blue shapes on red terrains, all bets are off. For most people it is not an issue, but if your system specs are low, you may experience problems.

This is why we are reluctant to 'open up' the modding tools more. Modding has the potential to break the game for a lot of people. We have been getting a LOT of support calls recently for people who are having problems with MODs, both performance wise, and with their game being broken due to modding.

We have also had quite a full people who have exceeded their alotted reg key installs. Since we have no way of knowing if someone is installing on their own machine 25 times, or handing out the code all over creation, we really can't help these people.

@Jax,

I am sorry that you have to run at a lower resolution. That is just the way it is. We worked hard to support lower end hardware, but there is only so much we can do.

I know poke... I'm savin up for that big ticket upgrade... But there's one BIG problem... I don't know how 2 install the video card safely. Only my dad knows and he won't like it! That and... Before our computer crashed... I had that kind of video bug creamer... Not the one I have now... But the "black object" bug.
