Yep, currently learning slide-guitar.
Been playing about with garageband as an effects box, never quite got the hang of using it for song arrangements though
Some friends used GarageBand to record some singles... Came out pretty good.
I do some sound engineering, and it really amazes me what can be done with GarageBand. I was all analog for that kind of thing, but the digital stuff is so easy.
I also put together some simple mixes for a local dance studio a couple times a year, and so far, I've been able to fill all their requests. Between being able to import, edit tracks, layer, and set track volumes, much can be done.
Spent the afternoon in Finale NotePad, finished a short piano piece... Great little software for notation.
Anyone using Finale PrintMusic or Finale Allegro? I'm looking to see if there's a difference worth the price.
I bought the old Finale (OS9.x) on eBay 2 years back, but OS9.x is soo passé.

Wow, that is a lot of great songs! Any place to purchase the new album?
I play guitar, some drums (my dad backed up stevie wonder for a while, so that is kinda in my blood), kinda play the harmonica, and I am teching myself the wood flute. I don't really have many tracks that I am currently overly proud of, but when we get a good drummer, Saint Jimmy and I are probably going to start a band.
Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.
Awesome Nyarl! =) That's why you're mellow ;) I don't listen to jazz at home per se, I think Jazz is to be heard live, with the band there, in a nice setting. Truly a great pleasure to hear live jazz, and to follow all the nuances.
Hey Flea I have a tape of Taiko. I saw Kitaro once in show with a band and a bunch of big drum; the sound was so loud I had to plug my ears! But I still remember it, indeed the beat .
I know Bolo is into music too, I think he plays in a disco band or something. The Pop-Lagger I think they're call.
I'll get my gears next week (coming by mail) so I'll let you know more! Seems truly like a plug and play thing.
I am really into GarageBand, if ya' want I can send you some songs of mine B)
^ Post them!
Talk'em up too so we know how you did it.
@ Hugo
For some reason I've been jonesing for the M-Audio Keystation 49e since it's cheap. (er)
Trouble is I've got a tin ear, no music experience and no patience. Think it's the right one? :)
Can an old Flea who's lucky to find his way home after work learn new tricks?
{WalMart free for over 24 months!}
I am a part time dj..and play a lot of underground stuff.
I luv musik.
Been thinkin about taking a few producing
classes tho.
To busy of late...bummer
@ hugo, if u ever get around to producing some tunes
let me know.
I'll get u some exposure in cali..
Nice drums flea
Flea, are you more ancient than the venerable Slugmaster? Hunt for the 61es, I've seen it at $99.99. M-Audio gives $50 back mail-in rebate ($149.99 - $50 rebate). I would have bought it but the rebate is only available to the US. 61 keys IMO is a decent minimum. Those basses are good and powerful...
I found mine at Kelly's Music in TO. 81 keys for US$210, including delivery. I'm happy. It's coming! %)
I had a "garage harDCore punk band" back in the late 80's.
We basically played Dead Kennedy's, Black Flag, Minor Threat and Circle Jerks cover tunes etc.
We had some of our own material, and looking back it was quite humorous although we were quite the rebels at the time.
The name of our band was Pontious Pilot and the Four Nailers, and our first hit single was "I hate every bone in your body but mine!"
We practiced in our garages, empty warehouses, public pools in the winter time (great for boarding).
Ahhh the good ole days of Cream Ale liguor, cheap cigarettes, skateboards ripped up clothing and wearing our Vans.
Not a worry in the world except where our next buzz was coming from.

"I hate every bone in your body but mine!"
lol! XD
Yes KKB, to grow up is something else... :'(
All that freedom in youth... No worry - or different worries, less... Pressing.
@ Vash: thanks for the offer, but I have no plan to go pro! :P I remember you brought your kit to the Convention... And was the dj!
I'll probably upload some mixes in a few weeks, etc. It will be neat to just figure out how to do everything.
@Live2Kill: what do you do? Post'em like was said! :P
Ight- But just to warn you- Im playing the drums in some songs :P So plug yer ears!

So I went ahead and forked $250+ for this baby M-Audio Keystation 81es and Garage Band, and now I'll get back into making music! :P
We used to record jam sessions, a bunch of tripping friends, it was back in the 90s when everything was still analog (and digital was just budding), I had this overkill 16-tracks mixer, and spent all my dough on musical instruments; sold them when I moved West, I still pined for my 16-pieces drum, and some good old synth I had, with unique sounds.
Until now I only have an Alesis QS8.1 synth. I'll try to plug its MIDI somewhere on my G4.
Technology progressed tremendously in the meantime! It's all plug-and-play now, all digital. I'm really curious of what can be done now...
Anyone here tripping with GarageBand or into Music? %)
