Ok well I did some research and I see that you can in fact see the IP address and not only that but the name of the computer it was sent from.
Ah! I found something else. Even if the sender uses an online e-mail service like Yahoo, or MSN, they still attach the IP address of the sender to the e-mail. That way even if the person is not sending through a pop server but using webmail you can still see their ip address. They could however spoof their IP when using webmail. They can't spoof their IP when using pop server. Atleast I haven't been able to find a way to do that.

@ Jet
There are several ways to do this. Pretty straightforward as a matter of fact.
@chief give us some examples
They can't spoof their IP when using pop server
Are you serious?
@Chief
If you know lets here it? I was asking because I am trying to learn more about e-mails and how to track them.
@Bolo
Are you serious?
I should have said I haven't found a way to do it. There are anonymous e-mailers out there but the only ones I've found are webmail based. If you know of a way to spoof your IP using a pop server please enlighten us.
Not being able to spoof using a pop server could also depend on the pop server. The ones I experimented with would not let me.

Quite honestly I would rather not share a whole lot of detail as it would actually risk making the ban function in the dash codes ineffective.
Please take no offense in this. If you see me in game we can make arrangementes to discuss.
I will say that it has nothing to do with whatever server your popping your email from. The tag comes from the SMTP server.
(Mods if I have said too much please nail this post - just trying to be helpful to Jet)
Well we all know that ban script works off of ip addresses if that is what you are getting at.
@Art Crazy
Thank you Art for being the first person to respond to this with an intelligent response. Yes I am aware that there are programs and I have such a program and it works with all applications but my e-mails. I am starting to think my problem lies with my ISP not my outlook express. When I try to send an e-mail while my ip spoofer is on, it comes back with an error that says "Rejected by server because the Ip may be forged". I was thinking that was outlook express doing that but I guess it is my ISP. Thanks for your help. There are so many people around that claim they know so much but when you ask you get nothing but garbage responses.
Admins nuke art's post NOW
We want to continue to keep the idiots like crow under control.
NO MORE ABOUT THIS
B
Yes this is rather absurd. Considering the ping flood buffoonery, and validated, performed by said person some months ago. I smell a ruse.
Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.
Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.
Sorry all but some info posted needs to be talked about via emails ! We have enough problems in TT as it is ! So I deleted what need to be deleted to help keep the Private Servers safe ! No offense meant to any one ! B)
@bolo he isn't asking you and crow is a great person,unlike some others that when I started treated me like crap.he has been giving a bad rap and he should be respected as much or more than most players here in ptt and tt.i see others try to gang up in there circle but now some of them are seeing the true picture of whats going on between him and another and/or others.never have I seen him treat a newbie-noob with disrespect.i have no problem with the others and would like to keep it that way.
thankyou-peace

@Bolo & Rogue
Screw you! I probably know more about the subject of Ip spoofing than either of you idiots do. I was only asking about E-mail headers, that's it. All the 2 of you do is run around the forums spreading your hate. I feel sorry for the both of you. Your lives must really be miserable.
@Lonewolf
Sorry about all that but no one was trying to teach people like Rogue or Bolo how to spoof their ip's I just wanted some info about e-mail headers.

@ Jet
Np, thank you for understanding !
@ apple
Smart A$$ ! :P
@Lonewolf
Sorry I haven't answered sooner, and yes I forgot about e-mails! Good that little post is deleted :)
(There are already some bad ppl that know this, one of them is banned and has come back with a different account many times - even made you update PTT's admin script)
@Jet Jaguar
Yea maybe that's because of your ISP...
Oh and no problem, just trying to be helpful, next time I'll have to remember to e-mail you :P
And if you have further questions about something like this, mail me @ artcrazytt@yahoo.com
@All
My way isn't really good too... As it lags up my connection a LOT! Once I tried it when I was surfing the web and what happened was this:
It took more than a minute to load this page! While it takes like a second on my normal connection...
And it isn't safe too, a good way to get hacked :)
And I hope this wasn't a bad bump, as I needed to say this...
@Art Crazy
Hey thanks man I sure will. Not sure what the big deal was but you are always helpfull.
@Jet
If you didnt get it I was actually telling the noobs how to get around banning on private servers (urgh, thatd be the end of the world! Back to no-banning times)

Ok eggheads, what do you guys know about E-mail Headers? What information can be gained about a person who sent you an e-mail by looking at the header information?
Can you track them to their ISP?
If someone sends you mail from one e-mail and then another can you compare the 2 and see if they were sent from the same computer or IP address?
If so please explain. It all looks rather gibberish to me.
