Way to go Cloud! :)
Every little bit helps. If you can't do $100, how about $10, or even $2? I'm thinking $30 for me.
Anyone else?
It was mostly my neighboorhood. I thank them. I think im going to go all around town. If thats just my street, think about my town! Im going to give it all I can. Every dollar counts! Even 1$ Give up a couple of dollars to help people in need! B)

Isnt Cat from New Orleans area? What about anybody from Miss. Or Bama?
My daughters school is collecting money so I will make my donation there, Cloud. Good for you for YOUR donation!! Every bit helps, $2, $10, $100.... It is going to take a lot. :)
Donation made. Need is great.
Anyone else?
Omg... This is bs. Listen to this. I just head about these 10 or 20 guys who are saying it was gods will that this happened, and they blew up a truckload of food... Unfortunetly, in this world, that doesn't get a headliner anymore :( sad. Some one who thinks god would want this to happen...
Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.
50 bucks on its way.
I hope all donatations actually make it to the people who need it.
There is still a heap of cash and supplies that was donated in Australia for the Tsunami relief that is still sitting here in warehouses and bank accounts etc.
And perhaps the US government can spend a bit less on bombs and really support this cause and lessen the need for everyone to donate.
Our thoughts are with everyone involved.
Stay safe

get the day pass.
Bump
I've an idea for those that cannot donate cash. The wife and I recently cleaned our closets of clothes that our family does not need anymore. We had about 10 garbage bags full of clothes we were going to donate to the Lupus Foundation. We instead gave all of it to a collection for hurricane victims.
Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.
Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.
^ good idea, Rogue. Also, if you wish you could donate, but don't have the money, join in a fundraising effort in your school or community. Volunteering to help with that is valuable, too.
Hopefully any tankers who lived in the areas that the hurricane reached are ok. Im sure many people have already helped out in the way of donations and like a person has previously said, every dollar does help, It's something many of us feel helpless and its heart wrentching to see how many people can only live day by day. Just be thankful to be alive. Other places you can send donations to would be Salvation Army and United Way . In the memo area write "Hurricane Katrina Relief" so these funds go directly to them.
Well thats my 2 cents for now. Take care all.
^ thanks. Also good places to support B)
My family would donate, but we aren't doing that good ourselves... But what some people are doing up here at PSU is letting people live in their dorms... Has airconditioning (not that good, but it works) running water, and food. More than they would ave down their...

Guys (& gals),
Americans should hang their heads in shame over how these poor people are being treated. I am, quite frankly, disgusted at what I am hearing regarding reports from the ground. Here it is 96 hours after this happened and people are no better off today than they were on Monday. I mean - Jesus - if you can drive a bus to the Superdomeyou can dang sure drive a water truck down there.

I feel so strongly about this I am going to post this in other relevant threads.
Pretty In Pink and Mark[Bot] live in New Orleans.
^ hope they're OK :S
@ Chief- I'm with you. It is disgraceful to see the suffering and needless death. We aren't talking about difficult to do things. GET THE LEAD OUT AND GET FOOD, WATER, AND SHELTER TO THEM.
It's not about who is poor, it's about the value of human lives.

Thought there would be someone... Hang in there, PIP & Mark. We hope you'll be back on PTT eventually, and we look forwards to that day.

It is sad that it has to come to that, but one guy has now stolen a baby! Whoever did that should be shot. He has gotten a place in the special hell reserved for child molesters and people who talk at the theater...

It looks like the support is pouring in from all around. Yesterday the school where I teach started a coin drive (last year we sent $2500 to tsunami relief this way). Today, every store I go to has some kind of collection going.
The Seattle Seahawks lost to the Minnesota Vikings last night by 2 points in the last preseason game, but the crowd donated over $150,000 to hurricane relief.
There was a concert on NBC last night, and many many other efforts. The people of this country are responding, and we will get through this.
Thanks to all who are making efforts to help. Great bunch y'all are ;)

@dj- I saw on the news about a guy whostole this womans new baby child... Not sure why, but that really sucks! And the quote was from last night's ep of firefly. Just trying to give the thread a little releif. My mom has started crying randomly lately...

Just to update everyone, the kids at my elementary school raised $1437.84 with a coin drive last week, and my daughter made over $40 selling cookies to my coworkers. All donated to the Red Cross for hurricane relief. :)
Thanks to all who helped, and this is going to be a long term effort. Keep it coming!

I just want to encourage all of you to take a few bucks and send them to The American Red Cross for hurricane relief. The South has taken a terrible blow from Katrina, and many thousands are in need of the basic necessities of life.
I get paid this week, and I'll be sending some money to them.
