Friday, March 11, 2005 at 2:58:24 PM

Good choices there Racer!! I grew up listening to Rush and Kansas. I've seen both in concert twice (once in the late 70's or 1980, and once in the 90's). Rush is by far the superior band, though. It always amazes me how all that sound comes out of just 3 band members.
Anyway, my favorite at the time is probably Steely Dan. I love the rock/jazz fusion sound they have.

MadMark, I sure hope you were kidding when you listed Vanilla Ice!!!

Friday, March 11, 2005 at 3:59:16 PM

Friday, March 11, 2005 at 5:53:43 PM

@Shermy,

I haven't gone to any concerts yet (not old enough), however, me and my dad own tons of Kansas albums and a few Rush ones, by far, my favorites are Test For Echo(Rush), and Sail On (Kansas).

< 11 years old and not listening to c-Rap or Britney musak!

Friday, March 11, 2005 at 6:31:05 PM

Those are good songs for their type. Nice choice Racer

Friday, March 11, 2005 at 6:55:09 PM

Racer, Leftoverture and Monolith are my fav Kansas albums. Before cd's came out, I had Monolith on one side of a cassette and Leftoverture on the other side. I wore out at least 2 copies of this cassette. Who would have thought a violin could rock??!!!

Friday, March 11, 2005 at 7:04:55 PM

Oh, you youngsters should check out Carlos Santana's "Best Instrumentals". This guy wails on the guitar!!!

Friday, March 11, 2005 at 7:07:13 PM

Well duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! HE knows what he's doing and that's for sure!!! But there is one better!!! THere is the ultimate guitar player!! No one is even in the sam building as this dude!!! IT is JIMI HENDRIX!!! The ultimate guitar player! If he were to hit a wrong chord, he would bend that string till he got that note he wanted! The Nation Anthem he did proves this! But he always played with a right handed guitar (even though he was left-handed) he just flipped it over and played. Well when He did the national antehm live at Berkly they gave him a left-handed guitar, and that's why it is so long, he keep hitting the wrong notes and he had to bend it(it was his first time with a left handed, se he wasn't used top it) So undoubtedly JIMI tops all guitar players!

Friday, March 11, 2005 at 7:22:31 PM

Ah yes, I forgot Leftoverture, thanks for reminding me. %)

Friday, March 11, 2005 at 7:34:56 PM

Jimi started a legacy

Steve vai, john petrucci, yngwie malmsteen, michael romeo, joe satriani and marty friedman have surpassed it
