I might be moving to australia
and I need some advice to what it will be like
it also means I might leave PTT/TT for EVA
I will miss you all very much and ive had fun

Yayyyy - more aussies to play TT against

Australia is a great place. And yes we do have the internet and we even have running water !!!!
Most cities have broadband connection - most regional areas have ADSL - TT works fine - 200 ping max.
I havent come across too many other aussies in TT - but there are always people online to play, so it wont be the end of your TT life!!

What is it like ?

Climate depends where you live - it is a pretty big place so it really varies.
Where I am - karratha in western australia gets real hot in summer - up around 48 celcius (120 Far). Pretty nasty - but we have very large airconditioners!!

Real friendly people - lots of outdoor sports etc, great beaches, great surf in some places. Heaps to do - if you get bored then there is something wrong with you. Lots of beer!!!!
Where exactly are you looking like moving ?

The cities are great - Perth and Melbourne are my favorites. Darwin in the Northern Territory is very cool also.

Also - a few misconceptions about aussies I would like to clear up

No one calls girls "Shelias"
Hardly anyone drinks "Fosters"
Most of us think "Steve Erwin" the crocadile hunter is a complete dick head.
And our accents are nothing like how we are portrayed on American TV like that idiot lawyer on JAG who was supposed to be from australia. Groan!!

I did a social studies report on Australia when I was in 3rd grade! I have to tell you you''ll love it there if you like hiking and getting K.O.'d by kangaroos. < lol.

Ahhh kangaroos dont KO many people although cars do KO them alot. I would post a roadkill picture however this is a G -Rated site.

If a roo attacks you it is more likely to slice your guts open when it kicks you with its hind legs... But you would really have to piss it off and be a complete idiot to get this to happen..... Although it has happened.

Most aussies hope it will happen to "The crocadile hunter" aka Steve Erwin , anyone get that show? I saw him on southpark once so it must get shown in the US

It seems when it comes to Australia, most people seem to have their heads inside their back sides. Australia is like most 1st world countries, we have technological advancement. Unlike the States our economy boats low unemployment rates, strong economic growth, budget surplurses, without the overcrowding of some nations.

People here are generally nice and friendly. We don't have school shootings, or gangsta style drive shootings. Crime rates are much lower than the States, and everyone doesn't own a gun, so we all don't want to kill each other either.

You will love it here.

I wouldn't mind moving there. Everyone I've met from there has been great. (And Australia has one of the highest literacy rates in the world... The schools are good.)
