My initial thought is that because of dial up addressing I may lock my server and provide
the pass to friends only...
Either that or just take it down and host only when my grandkids or I play

Funny you say this because I was thinking the same thing, why not just password the server and just give it to friends and family. If you think about it that is why we do modding is to play and have fun with our friends. What made me think of doing this is because I find my self checking ip's so much and controlling the server away from the idiots that I never get to play in my own game. People say I'm to strict in my server, but what they don't see is how much time in the game they really get to play because I am strict, they get so busy playing they don't see the camper I just removed so they could score, or the bmer I just kicked so they can continue to play.or the idiot tanty types who are non existent in my games. How they soon forget the how it was to play in the SW servers. It really just makes me laugh.

I dare not comment on this subject because I will most likely infect it with my bitter sarcasm.
