Bands of America has an annual contest for high school bands all across the US to perform at Indianapolis in the spring. Bands from all over submit tapes to this a year in advance. Judges sit and listen to those tapes without knowing who is on the recording. The 17 something bands that are selected from the entire USA go to Indianapolis to perform, listen to the other high school bands, and listen to the Honor Band of America for free. This is a great honor for a band and for us it means we can submit a portfolio for the next year's macy's day parade and maybe be accepted.
My band, the Georgetown Texas Wind Symphony (fancy talk for Honor Band), was selected to go. :) Yay!
I know PTT is a big place... So is the USA...
Possibly your band made it too!
It would be awesome if we had a couple of TT'ers going...
Anyway, thought I would tell everyone the good news.
