You probably do. The propaganda machine is in full swing, same as last time. But don't you worry, they're gonna nuke them for you. Yes, that's right, get ready for Act II of the plan to control the Middle East. The plan to crush Iran from the air is already in place, tha's why the news is filled with anti-Iran stories. There is no plan to PREVENT the next 9/11 attack but there is a plan to RESPOND to another attack by blaming Iran and starting a nuclear war. Is that why the UAE controls our ports? Some kind of deal? We'll see....

Sorry it's so long.

Pug, I've heard that Iran is plotting to invade Canada to turn it into an extremist theocracy, filled exclusively with angry men in beards and women in chains. Is it true? :o

You fear Iran, you fear me.

As hugo stated, we shouldn't be getting stereotypical.

And I ran, I ran so far away.
I just ran, I ran all night and day.
I couldn't get away.

OK, seriously, I don't fear Iran, but the situation does concern me. I had a thread awhile back discussing the "what ifs" of this situation. Hopefulyl diplomacy will win the day.

Pakistan recently got nuclear weapons with the consequence that they joined the concert of nation and are now Western Allies and major players in regional security.

The beautiful thing with these weapons is the Mutually Assured Destrection: if you use them you die. So it gives cold feet to everyone.

In regard to the direct threat to America, delivery is still the issue. Iran won't have Intercontinental delivery capability for a good while, nor will they ever come close to have a nuclear umbrella like Russia to threaten everyone in every direction.
In regard to regional security, it certainly will be worrisome for Israel but since the latter have an estimated 200 nukes, thus being able to blow up the entire region several times, pressure will be huge for Iran to be moderate.

France recently stated a rather virile point of view on the whole affair: anyone using Nukes against will be nuked. This is not new, this is indeed the basic law of Nuclear Weapon, ironically enforcing a lasting 'peace' between mortal foes. I guess the future will see several mini Cold Wars, and a few Cubas... :S

Iran is a semi-isolated regime, branded as being part of the Axis of Evil a few years ago. Since they are well aware their conventional weaponry will never match those of Russia, Israel and America (their most notorious enemies in the region, Iraq now being a non-entity), it comes to me at no surprise they're rushing to get a few nukes while the storm is focused in Iraq. This is so to speak a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get this thing going while the big players are tied in Iraq.

I'm not saying I approve; I'm just trying to always see current world events through the prism of Real Politik , that is:
"The term realism comes from the German compound word "Realpolitik", from the words "real" (meaning "realistic", "practical", or "actual") and "Politik" (meaning "politics"). It focuses on the balance of power among nation-states. Realpolitik is foreign policy based on practical concerns (political expediency) rather than ideals or ethics."

So like I said for me it makes sense they want to get this going. They are well aware it's their only chance for their regime to survive external pressure.

In a century there will be so many nations with Nuclear Weaponry it will be scary... We'll probably see a few good explosions too... :( It comes with the technology.

I'm a little more fearful of his brother Irun.

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

As a Canadian I ask, what’s wrong with beards and chains anyway?
I’m sure no one will invade Iran without proof of a nuclear capability or an ability to build intercontinental missals. That couldn’t happened or could it?

The beautiful thing with these weapons is the Mutually Assured Destrection: if you use them you die. So it gives cold feet to everyone.

I wish I was more confident in Hugo’s view, but the wrong person with the button – well death might not be much of a deterrent. Human beings are capable of suicide bombings, I can see them hitting the ‘fire’ button as well!
