1. Slide A LOT left and right when you have the scrum to avoid the maximum amount of bullets.
2. My pet peeve...Radar is your BEST FRIEND EVER. Use it like if there was no tomorrow.
3. Hills or anything that gets you in the air is your second BEST FRIEND EVER.
4. *for campers* do not execute head-on collisions, use back track attacks to get the scrum. Gets 'em usually every time except for hall of famer scrummers.
5. When near the goal or in a goal fight , use back track attacks to get the scrum, Confuses people and hesitates them.
6. When in TS, RUN if you are alone, near the goal, and there are many blues there unless if you are TRULY experienced 'nuff to score, and if there are hills, use them to "fly" into the goal.

Any other tips/comments post here.

I like #2 the best. I use the radar all the time. I never look at the battlefield, but look at it when a tank is close. But my eyes are in the radar 90% of the time.

As a newbie who is happy to score one good goal per game such tips are welcome and useful. Avoiding getting shot so fast from behind is my biggest weakness. So I will watch that radar screen more. I am also working on my camper (Chong) avoidance skills -- That's a tough one. I have done the quick reverse and turn with some success.

Thanks XD

I agree with all except 3, being in the air is one of the worst places to be in TS. The best time to steal the scrum is when someone is coming off of a jump or cliff and is suspended in mid air, this way they can't back away or juke you out.

3 is somewhat correct I think. If you go off sorta sideways and spinning, you have to land either frontwards or backwards but never sideways, but that way I've noticed you get hit less in the air

I use multi-billion dollar military satellites to find tupperware hidden in the woods... What do YOU do?

^ is what I meant ^^.

7.stop here and there when you are in motion to trick your enemies

8. My most used move possibly. Dont know how to explain but heres a pic.: (turquoise = you)

9. Sometimes/usually it is better to get ahead than to stay behind and shoot, especially when there are other people shooting him/her and if you know the enemy's plan. This is what I do all the time when I don't have the scrum ;)
10. In TS, always "cover" your teammate when they're bringing the scrum into the goal. Staying behind your teammate with the scrum can also be useful when they die because you can take over and bring it into the goal or bring it out of goal range.
11. Should be number 1 though X/....MEMORIZE THE MAPS and everything inside and about it.

21. Pause a little. Let the tanks slide from you. When you get the opprotunity go for the goal.

22. Take sly shots into people when they're going for the scrum as it weakens their armour and when your in a goal fight you can kill 'em quicker and score for yourself.

23. Make sure your shots are SLY or people call you a "bmer" and ironically enough spend the whole game bming you back

Hey Pablo, sly or not, it's still bm'ing and yes, I will shoot back. That's dirty playing and is not tolerated among the elite scrummers. Try playing clean, you will eventually get good enough and be able to score without lowering yourself to the bm'ers level.

Not unless its TS and anything goes then. BELIEVE ME if I did the things I do in TS in indy scrum I would so have an army of pissed TTers :P

^Pablo vs Flatulator:

Pardon my noobness but I have always assumed that if you are behind a tank going for the scrum it was perfectly legitimate, if not expected, that you blast the crap out of him/her to get 'em smokin (or dead) before they get the scrum. The bots certainly do that. If I see the tank with the scrum is already smokin good and there is another fresher tank going for the kill I will start to shoot the second tank so I can kill them before we get to the goal.

My aim is not that great and if I am shooting at the scrum tank, any other tanks in the area are going to get hit unintentionally. I figure I am going to get hit plenty if I am in the line of fire between the tank with the scrum and group of tanks behind me, and that that is just part of the game.

Am I a BMer??? I don't want to be.

What do others think?

Sunday, June 05, 2005 at 9:04:24 AM

I think you are bming if you shoot others before the scrum is picked up. After the scrum is picked up it's free game bming aloud at that time. I never shoot a tank untill they pick up the scrum.. Just the way I play!!! Doesn't win you many games because most don't play this way.. Same with camping I just can't do it, but it cost me many points but what the heck if thats what it takes for some ppl to have fun, ohwell just do what I do... Face the fact some can't play fair or as a group, they just want to ruin it for the rest of us.. I go on camp patrol so others can score after the hard work of getting the scrum to the goal.. I enjoy it!!!
