Lol, the siz thing is good
I can't wait to begin my next one. To late tonite though,
Heh, I couldnt believe I was the first to tell you how to stretch things nate...heh, I thought had already known. And you still havent given me that script yet... :[
Heh...
Oh yeah, and if you want the object even bigger, you have to scale the last 2 #s right, not just the 3rd number.. I forgot what the scale had to be, but ill get back to ya on that.......
Like I said, many of those tips are untested, and just rumors. I clearly stated that. ;)
Having some troubles finding the perfect fog color? Here are some nice colors you can use, in their RGB format.
Tropical Ocean Water: 0.000000 204.00000 153.000000 0.000000
Dark Foggy Gray: 122.000000 122.000000 122.000000 0.000000 (Any three numbers the same will produce a gray)
Sky Blue: 175.000000 200.000000 238.000000
Melon: 255.000000 175.000000 119.000000 0.000000
That probably wont be very helpful, but still, some nice little random colors for you to use. Experiment on your own some!
Easier way to do it is to go into a program like photoshop, open a new work place, set it in CMYK(sp?) and when you go to the colour mixer you can choose the colour you want and there will be a place for four numbers. Copy and paste them in order. Voala(sp?). If not, then then follow nathans plan.

Ummm, you use the RGB (Red, green, blue) value, not the CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Something) value.

K=black. It does make sense that it's RBG because CMYK works in percentages (I just relized that). But what's the fourth variable for?

The fourth value is Gamma, a brightness function.

Well, now that you have read Volume 1, you are now ready to follow these little tips and tricks to personalize your mod to perfection. Hold on tight, cause here we go!
Chapter One: Object Tweaks
In other people's mods, you may of seen bigger objects. This is a very hard thing to do, and a very hard concept to understand. Size is NOT a variable in objects, so there are not real set values. What this actually is, is a glitch, simply being exploited by various modders. Here are some values that you can place into the object's Rotation setting that will/may change object size. Many of these are just untested rumors. Try for yourself!
In the third rotation setting, try 1.992165
To increase rock size, input the following numbers in the rotation settings respectively: 00 -2 -800
To increase tree size, input the following numbers in the rotation settings respectively: 00 2 800
Another rumor is that the 3rd rotation setting area, the number 1.992165 can be doubled, tripled, ect for various sizes.
As I said, most of these are untested, and may not work. If you find your own, feel free to post them!
Chapter Two: Terrain Tweaks
In some mods, you may of seen different terrain, or patterns on the terrain. This is the detail setting on the terrain. If you point the detail setting to an image file within your Thinktanks install folders, you can create a transparent image on top of your terrain. In most cases, this is very ugly.
After decreasing the terrain block size, your level gets steeper, as you know. Well, sometimes if you make the "tile" setting a large number (1000 - 50000) you can flatten it out, but keep it small.
You want to make NEW terrain? You can't really, but you can get close. Simply make a new terrain block by copying the one already there, and pasting it below, keeping the mis file page format. Point it to a different level. You may not like the messy results, but it sure is cool!
Chapter Three: Atmosphere Tweaks
If you read my first mod tutorial, you would know what the atmospheric settings are. These simply are the fog, visable distance, sky, ect. Here are some of my "Nathan Tested" atmosphere tweaks:
If you have a water level, and you have set the fog all nice, but you hate the fuzzy horizon line? Easy! Simply make the visable distance 100000 and the fog distance 9000. This will make the horizon line PERFECTLY flat. This is probably my favourite tweak!
Having some troubles finding the perfect fog color? Here are some nice colors you can use, in their RGB format.
Tropical Ocean Water: 0.000000 204.00000 153.000000 0.000000
Dark Foggy Gray: 122.000000 122.000000 122.000000 0.000000 (Any three numbers the same will produce a gray)
Sky Blue: 175.000000 200.000000 238.000000
Melon: 255.000000 175.000000 119.000000 0.000000
That probably wont be very helpful, but still, some nice little random colors for you to use. Experiment on your own some!
I sure hope these little tweaks helped some, and I hope you can make some great mods some day! But this isn't all. Every once in a while I will release more Volumes of Nathan's Mod Tips! -z-, again, feel free to post these on your site.
