@ Everyone in the Community

Just got word that this has been confirmed. Serial Killa and Lauryn (SA) are the same person. This jerk has posted that his family died and posed as a girl for months on this forum and in the game. Judging from his posts he's not only a liar but a total perv. See any number of his previous forum posts for verification. Serial Killa/Lauryn is nothing more than a scumbag.

A recommendation to you idiot, even though you post under different names your IP is still the same so we know that you are both and cannot be denied. This buttholes' bullcrap posts about his family is undboubtedly the reason why the whole Lonewolf skepticism began.

Now he is playing as hydra and demonatrix and acting like people are giving him crap when he is in fact the biggest piece of excrement on Think Tanks.

You're busted you jerk so STFU.

Sunday, June 27, 2004 at 1:50:57 PM

Is this true? Can anyone verify this? I hope not because I hate to think I was lied to so blatantly in a number of emails we have shared.......

This facet of our "virtual community" is making me very sad.

Reading this post, I have come to a decision. The ThinkTanks community has not gotten better, and there are no more challenges in the game. None of the nice players (aka vets) and even some of the nice less experienced players don't come on enough.

Sunday, June 27, 2004 at 5:00:36 PM

I will not be playing much since the game is not much fun ever since people started accusing each other of all kinds of different things. No one has even tried to stop it. I quit. I will still be on ThinkTanks, but very rarely. I am tired of all of it.

So "Busted" registers today and posts this allegation and we just believe it?

It seems like some more "facts" would be needed before any conclusions are made.

It is a strange aspect of this "community" though that someone could (not saying did) project a fictitious persona and then weave us through the fiction. Thus the "virtual" nature of our identity.

Of course we all know there have always been the anon's adopting other names, imposters stealing other names, folks using aliases and living double, triple....lives amongst us.

I guess we should try not to let this duplicity get to us. If for no other reason as an act of self defence, defending our ability to trust and believe in people.

Ahhh Mark- a little hard to follow you there. You sound very tired.

Get some rest.

Then come back and play :)

@ -z-,

Please delete this post. This is nothing but ficticious and disgraceful posting.

@ All,

Not even going to touch this one, except to say Busted - come out and reveal who you really are than hide. I find it disgraceful that you don't know me personally and mock my family whom have passed away. Are you the sick "bastard" that sent me an e-mail weeks back wanting to rape my little girl??? Let me refresh your memory "click here " If so for your sake stay underground....

After reading Mrs. Lonewolf's post I see that there are some really twisted people in TT.

GOOD IDEA!

-z- please verify that what I have said about this jerk is true or not. I did not even think of e-mailing -z- before I posted it. If he chooses he can either verify or veto this accusation.

I would like for the person I heard this from to also step forward. If you want. Sorry if you did not want me to say anything. I just happened to be in the server when you were talking about him and how people like that ruin leagues. Now this serial killa, miss X-ecutioner, lauryn, hydra, demonatrix guy is getting on my nerves.

Ok, so who are you busted? I've never seen you. And durning a game is no time to get reliable info.

Sunday, June 27, 2004 at 7:16:08 PM

Yes I did hear it during a game. So what. Serial and Lauryn are both from Australia. Has anyone ever seen them in a game at the same time? Along time ago I 1 vs. 1 serial and lauryn in my server. The IP was the same. Back then I didnt care but now I do.

Sunday, June 27, 2004 at 7:59:11 PM

@ Busted,

You seem to contradict yourself:-

Has anyone ever seen them in a game at the same time? Along time ago I 1 vs. 1 serial and lauryn in my server. The IP was the same.

If I was playing Lauryn in your server, then the only reason we would have the same IP address is because we use the same internet company. Moreso, if Lauryn and I were playing in your server 1 vs 1, then you must have it all wrong. I won't dwell on this point, your intelligence already does!!!!

Goes to show what a fabricated lie this is, and this thread.

Well.. If you really want my say on the matter...

I have about 10 different IPs for serialkilla (and 18 different IPs for Lauryn), half of them, show a direct match for those of Lauryn, and a third of them are also identical to demønätrix¹. (IPs collected from login to this site etc)

Sure, there is the possibility that the same IP that one member had was coincidentally given to another player on another day, but the chances must be pretty darn slim. I could of course examine logs with close scrutiny to check the time differences between the logged IP's, but I'm not sure its important enough to warrant the time it would take me.

Monday, June 28, 2004 at 1:18:53 AM

Then the only reason we would have the same IP address is because we use the same internet company

No two people will ever have the same IP at the same time unless going thru the same proxy or spoofing an IP.

All im gonna say is that the two have a VERY similar playing style.....

At this point nothing suprises me about this community

B

Monday, June 28, 2004 at 1:26:49 AM

@ Bolo,

For the record. There is no possible way for two people to have identical IP's whilst they are playing, unless they are either "using the same proxy or spoofing an IP address". What I was referring to, here in Australia, an internet company does not allocate a user and designated IP address, unless the have a T1 line or the like. Internet companies such as mine, OPTUSNET, use a range of IP addresses, therefore next time I log in or reboot my IP address will change but will definetely be within a range - STATIC IP.

Could it be possible that Lauryn has used the same internet company as me??? Same as the possibility that I could use the same internet company as POMMY!, and Mars - both whom live in Australia, and at one point or another have played TT.

I once thought that POMMY! Was Lauryn, because he is originally from the UK, and uses the same internet company as me. Conspiracy??? Decide for yourself. Then Miss Kitty released a reply to a thread a while back, that she had met Lauryn in person - so that theory went out the window.

As for your theory that Lauryn and Me play same style, not sure, haven't played Lauryn that I know of. I have taught people like Stan, and Grasshoper aka NUTS!, and they have resemblance to my style, does that mean that I am either of them?? In order to beat Supra I mimick his movements, does that mean I am Supra?? Everyone in TT has a set pattern, mimick it, and you will find that you will beat your competitors. Whilst we all play against each other, the worse enemy is the one who can mimick your pattern, because we never play against ourselves, so what defence do you have for someone who knows your moves??? - think about this point.

Serial I understand fully what your are saying about ip's in au

-z- said in his post that he would have to look at dates and times to see if there is any correlation. Its a pain but it does work.

Dialup internet here in IL is the same way. If 2 TTers used the same ISP it is possible for them to have the same IP address at different times. The dhcp server automatically assigns the IP (within a range) to the client.

For both people to be using the same ip address within a short time period is HIGHLY unlikely.

If serial made a post at 12:05pm and then lauryn made another at 12:15pm the same day and BOTH were using the same IP then it is HIGHLY likely that they are the same person...

Hopefully we are all mistaken.

Well.. Having searched the logs more thoroughly just extracting all those records pertaining to the accounts in question, it becomes far more clear cut

Below (with the IP address blanked out although every entry listed was identical) are a few of the entries from this month.

Take what you want from these results, but they both seem to be originating from the same computer to me.

I have a static IP address, so I can't see how this is possible. I spoke to my internet company today, and they confirmed the same. Not possible for me to have the same IP address everyday. Hmmm.

@ -z-,

You are still to reveal who Busted is??? Or is this a conspiracy??? Don't doubt that you do great work for this community, but since you are a computer whiz, I'd love to hear your response to my questions above. Moreso, in confidence I am happy to give you my personal details so that you can ring my ISP, and at my cost, ring them and confirm that what I am saying is true and correct!!!

And this will confirm once and for all that Lauryn and Me are Different people.

OUCH! BUSTED! LOL! It sure does look clear to me.

@ -Z- I´ve got a question, Bimp and I play from a LAN, would we then have the same IP because my PC is sitting behind his? I´m just curious. Thanks.

Jinx

Monday, June 28, 2004 at 4:46:08 AM
-z-

@ Jinx: Yes, you and Bimp do indeed show the same address. Regardless of the fact that both of your machines would have their own local IP address, you are still both connecting from the same connection which has its own IP external to your lan.

@ Serialkilla: Busted's IP is unique and has no matches to any other member. If your IP is a static IP, then it would be the same everyday. If its dynamic and you are on DSL/Cable/Whatever, then it will only change occasionally when the DHCP lease expires and you are issued a new IP. BTW, are you with BigPond or Optus?

Yes, Serial Killa has been helping me with my playing skills.

It all started with the picture post of his family and I, along with others were unable to see them. We exchanged emails, obviously with me saying sorry about his family. We then ran into each other on Think Tanks and he offered to help me, because I suck.

As for the Grasshopper aka NUTS!, I am NUTS!, I used Grasshopper once. (Grasshopper was a term we used to remind me to have patience and not always rush in.) The time that I used it was in BM and when I looked later I noticed that someone else was using Grasshopper.

-Z- who else was using Grasshopper?

Serial,

I hate to say it, but you might need to get OJ Simpsons lawyers to get you outta this one. The bloody glove is in your courtyard, and your mess is all over the place. There is a lot more information about you than has been posted in this forum...... You need to keep the mantra going "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit"

There has been interest in you for quite a while..... I think you are nailed.

Having multiple persona would probably not be a big deal except you were making huge claims of tragedy and you got the community emotionally involved....

Anyway, I could still be wrong about this, but you might just wanna slink away and forget this happened..... The trail is fresh and the more you argue, the more you might find yourself embarrassed by the riches of proof against you.

Just my thoughts,

Katherine

OM

Whoa! I dunno SK, the evidence presented looks pretty damning to me. Also, unless I'm reading -z-'s info posted above wrong, it also looks like there haven't been occasions where both Lauryn and serialkilla have been logged in at the same time on ptt.com. Maybe that's not true but that's sure what it looks like. Hard to refute.

2 people can't possibly have the same IP day after day unless you were both on the same network going through a router/firewall or something and the address was the routers external IP. If you're different people, do you work together and play at work? Is one of you stealing the others wireless internet connection?

You're going to need to come up with some convincing evidence that you 2 are not one and the same.

One thing I remembered though, apparently miss kitty did post some time back that she met with Lauryn face to face and that she WAS a woman. Don't know what that means, but I recall that. Unless miss kitty is somehow in on this too, which I kinda doubt, it appears whoever Lauryn is, is in fact a woman. This just gets weirder and weirder.

Monday, June 28, 2004 at 1:03:43 PM

@ All,

The facts.....

I have a Dynamic IP address as provided my my internet provider being Optus (Optusnet). It is impossible for me to have the same IP address as stated by -z- everytime I log on to my PC. I have spoken to the customer service team at Optus, and all -z- can do is confirm that we use the same internet companies. Is that a crime??? I am getting somewhat annoyed by this thread. Only reason as to why I respond to so many posts is because I really am not Lauryn. Somehow I am drawn to this, which is a weakness of mine.

I have been playing this game for almost 12 months. My reputation has never been questioned until some idiot whose theories are so loose than even the local prostitute (hooker) couldn't compete with, see above. I am not about to let anyone disrepute me. I have nothing to gain by lying, or pretending to be anyone else. Everytime I have ever used an alias I have been forthcoming in disclosing the information.

Also, for the love of God, I hope that noone brings my family into this one. If you want prove that they are no longer with me, then come to Sydney, and I'll take you to Rookwood Cementary where they lie in a coffin. It's been a hard 2004, and now I get this grief. I can understand why (a) I try to avoid the forums, and (b) play anonymously.

What proof has Busted really provided??? Nothing!! He is a coward just like Anonymous, and all of the other Jerks, who trash these forums with hate, and vegeance.

SK, if you read my post, you can see that I am stating what I know from proof that I have seen. The things I said in my post should be taken literally (except the OJ joke). I am not accusing you or insulting you in any way.

FYI: not true about dynamic IP being different every time you use your machine. If you use a router and have multiple machines, you will have the same IP forever until you choose to manually renew your IP lease.....surprise!!!

FWIW: there is a big difference between you being accused of having this dual personality that might be used for nefarious reasons, vs me being attacked because I chose to speak openly about being gay in a community that has people who are opposed to gay relationships.

Deep, man, pretty profound. Hey, my foots asleep, help me out, would ya?

Monday, June 28, 2004 at 11:04:17 PM

@ Serialkilla

It's kinda hard to argue with the facts. I happen to know that there ain't no way in hell two people are going to "happen" to catch the assignment of the same IP....not once, but SIX times? Once is almost an astronomical impossibility. Six times is pretty much, as K8 put it, like finding a "Heisman in the bushes."

Sorry, but it's like math - an exact science.

Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 12:39:40 AM

Hmmm.

It looks like we have a new Columbo in TT land.

I guess I'll have to reluctantly pass my badge on to Busted whomever that masked man may be.

I have one simple piece of advice for you Busted and all other private eyes. Keep it under wraps next time. It's easier to keep tabs on known "idiots" when they are oblivious to the fact that they are being watched. Advising the heads of the various leagues would have been sufficient.

Personally I could care less what name or how many aliases a person uses. What really chaps my buttcheeks though is when they repeatedly join and quit leagues as said culprit has done. Quitting a league and then attempting to rejoin as a new alias is especially bunk in my opinion. Of course, parading as a female on a message board is equally disturbing. It's hilarious to think about all the time he invested in this apparent ruse.

My two cents for what it's worth.

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

Well I know from my ISP that supposedly every time I disconnect and reconnect I get a new IP address.

@-Z- Can you confirm this by Bimp and myself?

Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 10:08:58 AM

JINX, the key statement there is "disconnect"

My router is on 24-7. The router connects to the internet via dynamic IP and my machines connnect via dhcp to the router. As long as that router is on it has the same IP. I can turn on and off my computers for an eternity and my IP stays put unless I disconnect or turn off my router.

Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 12:24:03 PM
-z-

@Jinx, yes. I have about 35-40 different IP address logged for you, although 2 of them (very different from all the others) have been logged more times than any other.
