Just follow the path, click programfiles then bravetree then thinktanks then game then data then shapes then tanks. ( when you open program files look for bravetree, when you open brave tree look for thinktanks when you open thinktanks look for gamee when you open game look for shapes when you open shapes look for tanks..)
FIRST
Find the skin you want on your tank [e.g the Unitedtanks skin]. BUT! Make sure it is 512x512 pixels length/width
SECOND
copy the skin you want from where ever you got it from.
THIRD
go to start/my documents. Then a screen should appear. Now on the top of the screen you should see some writing that says folders and a picture of 2 little folders. Click it
FOURTH
a side panel will come up. Now on that side panel click "my computer". You should see a giant list of things.
FIFTH
on that giant list, locate “local Disk (C:)”. Click it, and more options will come up
SIXTH
Once you click the local disk (C:), then find program files. This has your think tanks folder in it
SEVENTH
Now find bravetree [or whatever you saved your thinktanks folder as]. Double click it until you come to a folder named game. It should be next to common – dedicated – game.
EIGTH
Open the game folder. Then data, then shapes then finally tanks. At the top of the window it should say C:Program Files/bravetree/thinktanks/gamedata/shapes/tanks.
NINTH
Now find tank01 [should be alphabetically]. Rename it ORIGINAL so it is backed up. Then paste your skin, rename it tank01 and VIOLA! Theres your new skin!
PS: originally wrote this for a clan member, but I didnt change it for it to be posted here so if its a littl econfusing I'll fix it...
I need to find out how to get the folder up and running so I can use the skins

You should have shapes ,skies, sound, missions, terrains, all in this same data folder, open the data folder and see what is there, if it didn't have shapes in it you would not be able to go into any games what so ever, so I take it that it is there or you could not play even now. Follow the tutorials givin one step at a time, also go to the modding resourse thread and read up on what all the default folders are and what they do.. This thread should have been in the general, or the help section. Not in the skins.
OK Alien Killer {LEADER}{MR}, look at the picture below. And follow this:
Follow that. One your in your thinktanks folder, you should see common - dedicated - game folders, and some other stuff. Click game. Once yuo click game, click the data folder. Then look at this picture to see if your correct:
* note the file path on the bottom.
Click shapes. Now TAKE YOUR TIME and look for tanks. Now your in the tanks folder. Find tank01 for a light, tank02 for a med tank, and tank03 for a heavy tank. For a light tank:
Click on it, rename it T1original [tank01 original, so its backed up]. Paste your new tank skin [512x512 pixels l/w] and rename it tank 01. Done
* some stuff in this may be repetitive. Ignore it
