Woot!
Nice! I like it, but not as much as I like the other radars.
Dat is nice
Cool :)
I love it lol
Somethings wrong I just get a white box
can someone hel me out here?
I get the same thing.
You'll have to resize them yourself to 128px X 128 px

Ditto, I tried and just got the white box as well. Has something gone south with the transparency in the file?

My brain is pretty hazy on all this, but I found this old text file laying around that I used to explain radar to someone. It might help.
Should have 3 files.
1) playGui.gui.dso
2) radar_base.alpha.jpg
3) radar_base.jpg
Put them all in the game/client/UI folder. Let them replace the old files of the same name.
EDIT Not sure, but this may be why the white box is showing up. Don't think the 3X Spider Web Skin has playGui.gui.dso, so download 3X Radar and use the one in there.
The radar dots will still be tiny, so add these lines to the bottom of the main.cs file;
for double size radar dots:
RadarHud.dotWidth = RadarHud.dotWidth + RadarHud.dotWidth;
RadarHud.dotHeight = RadarHud.dotHeight + RadarHud.dotHeight;
for triple size radar dots:
RadarHud.dotWidth = RadarHud.dotWidth + RadarHud.dotWidth + RadarHud.dotWidth;
RadarHud.dotHeight = RadarHud.dotHeight + RadarHud.dotHeight + RadarHud.dotWidth;
Here's 2 very handy radar threads with more info. Radar thread 1 and Radar thread 2
Hope it works. I haven't tried the spiderweb yet, but it looks great!

Very nice! ;)
@all
This is what happened when I attempted to use these. I contacted Scott and he replied with more information.
"OHHHH..... No you have to download and install either the 2X or 3X radar then then replace the web skin files of the same size. I don't have one for the normal sized radar simply because it's to small for such a busy skin."
I tried this and the 2X or 3X radar worked just fine. When I tried to install the web skin "radar_base.alpha.jpg and radar_base.jpg" I would get the same white box problem as stated above.
I ended up taking both radar_base.alpha files into Photoshop and copying the information from the 2X or 3X web file into the 2X or 3X base file and saving that file. There must be something in the web base file has is having issues. I replaced the 3X file mentioned earlier and it works wonderfully. I informed Scott so he's aware. I think this really is an awesome skin for the radar. I have a cinema display running a 1680 by 1050 pixel resolution. This thing looks awesome!!!! Best radar skin available in my opinion.
@LilAlienD (FU) Nice job, really nice. Thanks!!

Hey Napalm could u host a zip of what you have in yours...thx!
@ Billy Bob©
Actually I would rather not do that. Out of respect to the creator (LilAlienD (FU)) I don't think it would be appropriate to distribute something I didn't create without specific instructions from the author. I can email you a zip if you like or send LilAlienD (FU) the file but I think he could certainly fix this himself. I don't want to offend anyone who is doing such a great job of enhancing the gaming experience.
I offered the information so people could get the spider web radar skin to work because I think Scott did a top-notch job. I figured out how to get it to work (which was not difficult if you've worked with Photoshop before) so people could get the end result without pestering Scott or posting negative comments. I hope helps, again if you want me to send you the one file I changed post your e-mail address. Also make sure you follow the instructions posted above. I personally use the 3X radar and web skin with the radar dot doubled in size.
Thanks!

Naah - he has a PC.
Mann I want one of those...
No, I want a 30" monitor. :P
Well then…
Yeah, sorry ya'll, I don't come to this section of the forum to much at all. I was informed by Napalm that he had a probably with the skins and posted it here, but didn't realize that everyone else was getting the same thing.
I've checked em myself and did a couple things. I added the playGui.gui.dso files to the zip files for both web skins. That whole mess seems to be a weird little quirk with skinning. The same thing came up with the Teams Skins for CTF tournament. When people would just dorp in the two skins for each team it wouldn't work, but when they would drop in a whole package of all the team tanks and skins it would work, which is why I was left to upload two new packs of skins and object files every week.
So yeah, everything on my end works.... But ya never know.
The links are the same, I just replaced the files that get downloaded.
Hope it works.
Thanks LilAlienD (FU)
Again, Best radar skin as far as I'm concerned.
See it does work!!

Well, I'm finally publicizing my infamous Spider Web radar skin. I'm only releasing them for my custom sized radars though. The standard tiny little 128 radar doesn't do em justice, as you loose alot of detail. So, you have to download one of the larger radars first… if you haven't already… which most of you have. If you really want to use them on the standard radar though, you'll have to resize them yourself to 128px X 128 px.
I've added them to my FileSharing page located here . Enjoy.
