Ok, this ? Has probably been answered b4, but I'm having problems. I'm trying to start a dedicated server, I followed roo's instructions to a T, but when I try to save TT1_1.bat, it stays as a text file: TT_1.bat.txt. I've fiddled and fiddled, but I lack the comp skills to figure this out on my own. Plz help, or just tell me to give it up, I have no business trying to be a computer geek. :) :S

You will probably need to tell us something about your computer. But since you said you asked Roo, and I believe Roo has Windows as OS.
I m not a Windows expert, and I don't want to be ;). Because I prefer Apple :)

Now back to topic:
Is there a way to go to the info of the file? I know there is but I don't know how.
If you did find that try to take out the.txt but leave the.bat there
Did it stay like that? Good then we re finished.
If it did not stay like that

i m not sure about this method
Copy everything that is inside your TT1_.bat.txt to Notebook and try to save it there as a.bat.
Now if that doesn't work, man I m sorry then I will not be able to help you...

^tried all of the above. The instructions I got from roo were from modding resource thread. Note: no other TT files are named.bat files. When I try "save as" or try to change the file type, nothing looks right. My OS is windows xp, and I'm not sure if it matters, but I don't technically own TT, I'm a shockwave gameblast subscriber.

Rename the TT1_1.bat.txt file to just TT1_1.bat

Double click on it to run it.

I ran windows for a number of years until I finally downloaded the better OS. (Linux)

^ did that. Basically, it won't let me change the file type. Again, no other files are ".bat" files, unless it's just not showing the ".bat".

Just use rename and drop the.txt
So that it ends in.bat

If your last names are not showing go to windows explorer and click on Tools
then click on Options
then click on the View tab
then uncheck the hide file extensions for known file types
and click OK

Ok,sry to be annoying, but I'm still doing somthing wrong. As a gameblast subscriber, my file paths are a little different. I put the "dedicated" folder in my "product" file (the same folder containing my main.cs), and if I want to use my mission loader, should the batch file read:

Cd..
ThinkTanks -dedicated -mission game/server/scripts/MissionLoaderMain.cs -game S

?

Also, when I launched the bat file, the black screen only popped up for a second, then disappeared.

No, that MissionLoaderMain thing should go in the main.cs at the very bottom, like so:

Exec("game/server/scripts/MissionLoaderMain.cs");

The.bat file should read:

Cd..
ThinkTanks -dedicated -mission game/data/missions/MISSIONNAMEHERE.mis -game S -log 1

I think you misunderstood, I have the missionloader all set, I've used it before. I was just double-checking that I had the "dedicated" folder in the right spot(I think I do).
About the.bat file- I want it to run the maps in my missionloader, not just 1 specific map.

If you've got MissionLoader executed in your main.cs, you won't need to mess around with the.bat file. Just use the first mission in your MissionLoader rotation instead of MISSIONNAMEHERE.
