The person you were playing with was a putz. You had every right to do what you did. Why would you chase after somebody about to hit a speed arrow? So they can just zoom over you unabated?
Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.
Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.
If you were between me and the goal, then you were camping.
Since I wasn't in the game, I guess you are clear.
Sometimes, that's the only option to prevent someone from scoring a goal, so it's not u'r fault whatsoever
**..::I am thoroughly...
amused:::..**
Even if you were, It's one play, in one game. Camping is part of the game even if many of us look upon it as a lazy, and cheap way of getting points.
Don't fret over it.
It's one thing to park in the goal, quite another to wait at an expected drop point. If I see someone waiting in said spot, I adjust my path accordingly, as opposed to stupidly proceeding. If the road is closed, don't use it.
That's not camping.
If your in the goal or within close range of it thats camping but you were far from it. If they stole it from you and it's possible to kill them before they get to the goal it's not camping. And from what it seems he could of killed you(if he had the skill) so it looks like your clean and that guys is just a dirty soar loser.
Camping is to me as follows... When the game is in play if you are not moving towards the scrum or moving to position yourself to intercept the player with the scrum you are camping. Now in your case even though you were sitting still waiting he had time to react to you, camping is the fools who came from nowhere and take your hard earned goal from you at the point of scoring. As I see it you were not camping...
@ LGM I always take into account the players skill when he or she advocates something like that towards my little person.
Also it's an evident move, you had to do that , I also wait higher up and blast the s..t out of them when they are coming while I'm in reverse , this way they know for SURE they made a mistake, bump if they not dead and score. Where's the next goal!
Your a good player LGM , keep playing MAN and seeing those obvious moves and get ready for the not so obvious ones.
Campers get better I need the practice.
Delta, agent of change.
Ps No it's not camping , it's intercept, steal and score.
Not a camp.
Well kinda reminds me of a somewhat simular move I've made a few times.
I have "intercepted" a scrum w/rocks flyin' on what I call the "Diaganal Pass".
There making the stretch around/over a hill, ie: "Hypothalamus Hills",(this happens alot) and "naturally" I will not continue following them on "their" path, but fly "around/over" the same hill, whatever if that's what it takes to catch up and "intercept" the scrum. Sure they might not like it, and they might accuse me of less than scrupulous stratagies, but really I did only what I could do. Same as YOU LGM. He just needs to familiarize himself w/logical game strategy. Probably a "newbie" or just a soar loser, or just a loser period. You did nothing wrong or "sneaky". We have to adjust to the game "flow", and sometimes it looks bad to some of the less experienced. I can admit to feeling "funny" when executing the move I just described, but only because I expect someone to "complain". Nuff said. :)
@ KC
Spoken like a True Vet ! B)
@Delta
I like to get up on that ridge and fire a couple of clips at them while they line up for that arrow, too. I didn't have time to get there that time, though :)
@ all
Thanks folks. Y'all see it the same way I did. I thought it would make a good conversation, though. (and thanks for the compliments, too..) See ya in game!

I said it once, I will say it again....even some of the best scrum players are glorified campers. They just dont sit right on top of the goal, they wait until everyone arrives and makes a move.
Not a camper if you ask me.
I agree with 56k...you're a diver too.
Gee thanks, fo fo. Didn't know you noticed %)
Camping can be sitting IN close to or BETWEEN THE SCRUM CARRIER AND THE GOAL
I dont belive this but technicly u are
In real life situation, what would any of you do??? 8o
NYP- so if that's true, anytime anyone is between the scrum and the goal, they are camping? That doesn't make any sense at all. I agree if "sitting in close", but the other part is bogus. If that's the standard, everyone camps at least half the time just by being in the game...
There is a fine line between camping and strategic positioning.......... Good position is essencial in scrum.....in my mind you did not camp
Its only camping if you are:
Sitting in the goal,
Sitting near the goal not moving (without typing),
Or close enough that it doesn't leave them time to react.
Not if:
There is a goal fight going on,
They have time to react to your move,
You are moving toward them.
Keep in mind this guy was a noob though, and sometimes noobs overreact (one time we were in CTF with the admin, and some noob started calling him an a*** because he thought there were "secret codes" being used)

I was playing indie scrum yesterday on Freudian Flats. It wasn't a great game. (I was ahead by too much, so that tells you about the level of play.)
Another player joined, and went for the scrum. It was on the side of the map where the reload gate is. I was diagonally about as far from there as possible, and the goal was in the corner where the two arrows are that you can use to approach the reload gate. It wasn't right at the goal, the goal was the farthest goal on that side, not right near the arrow.
The new player was near the reload gate with the scrum, and looked to be going to use the arrow and boost pad to zoom over toward the goal. I decided to wait for him where he would land after doing that. He came flying toward me, just as I expected. I let him bounce into me, took the scrum and went to the goal for a score.
He called me a "f***ing camper". I told him that wasn't camping (I suppose it could be called lurking), but he seemed pissed about it for the rest of the game, and kept shooting me in the backside.
What is your verdict? Was I camping, or just using the ability to predict the likely next move?
EDIT: A picture's worth 1,000 words...
