There has to be something special about a guy,who upon his passing, is praised by George Bush and Fidel Castro; Ariel Sharon and Hamas; and India and Pakistan and yet never shrunk from expressing what he thought was right. In an age of cynicism, secularism, materialism and despair, here was a real hero. Rest in Peace, John Pablo.

Yes Norky! You are most correct. PJPII will be named as a saint I'm sure in the near future, maybe even in our lifetime. His title is already being re-written in the books as Pope John Paul the Great. I was 16 years old when he was elected!

PJPII was known as the "pontif of peace"
George Bush Jr. Refers to himself as "the president of war" (Farenheit 9/11footage)

I fear now the peacemaker has passed, the door widens for the president of war!

God help us all!

Well said Nork.

And before this thread gets derailed... I'll point Norky to the other thread about John Paul II: http://supra.planetthinktanks2.com/archives/comm-thread.asp?thread=7574&forum=4

And for those who want to debate about micheal moore, there is a thread about that somewhere, you'll have to dig for it...
