Ben

Everything is better on a Mac. We all know it. Even those poor Dell laptop users who insist they have a better kit than the powerbook. FOO'S heheh

Whats so different that makes it better?

"Dell laptop users"
Dell is an overprices POS...and people still buy them.... Comparing a dell laptop to a powerbook is like comparing a top af the line falcon or alienware to a commador 64. (no offence to dell users, but almost all dells I have seen (my parents own 2 of which) have been way overpriced for minimal perforemance)

The thing with Macs is that whenever they come up with a system upgrade, you don't have to buy more of Apple's hardware to run it. Case in point: Windows XP. Nowadays, almost every program runs on Windows XP, which requires top-of-the-line processors and motherboards to run, leaving the less-than-1-GHz processors of about two years ago obsolete. With Macs, you can use a G3 with Mac OS X, and it'll run fine.

Another thing: the Megahertz Myth. Windows needs top-of-the-line processors because they need to use almost all of the processer's performance speed to run the desktop. Mac, on the other hand, only uses a bit of the processor, leaving you to do other processor-intensive tasks. For those who are skeptics about this, look it up. It's true.

But you can also run windows '95 with no problems. ;)
But microsoft doesnt offer support
Oh, @Bolo: I am not saying they arent good pc's, im just saying they are overpriced for what you get.

BS, Im running WinXP on a dell laptop (3 yrs old) with a 900mhz celeron right now, I play TT on this rig too. Obsolete it is not.

True, but to run the new top-of-the-line games, they say you need at least a 1 GHz processor.

I guess Macs are better, but I'm not in a position to say it, I have a PC and my parents won't get a Mac :[ such a shame...

Mac sounds like something that you would get at Mc Donalds but Windows sounds like its a window to succes ! :P

Oh, top of the line will require more than 1ghz...on either a mac or PC. (They make top of the line games like Halo, Halflife and Doom for mac?)

Probably would want at least 2ghz for those...

One word: Linux.

Nope. My 266 machine runs it much smoother than win98.

Try again
