Hey guys,

I thought it could be fun to have a list of contact details of all iChat users who have a webcam. I myself found out that it was really fun when my dad was in america with his Powerbook G4 and a webcam and we held contact using iChat. Last sunday I was talking on iChat with Rx at the TT convention in Toronto, which was really fun. That is basically why that I want to know more contact details...

Requirements:
- You must have a mac with iChat
- You must have a working cam (I prefer iSight ;))

There are 2 possibilities, you can get a .Mac account but these.mac accounts aren't free for the very simple reason that there is a iDisk included (a online stockroom for files) which will cost you 99.95$ a year. If you look there you will also see that there is a demo, which won't work on iChat :(.
The second method and the one I did is to get a AOL account (and look in the top right corner for AOL & AIM Sign in ), which is free and works the same.

Then getting everything to work:
Just fill in the requested things, make sure that you do pick the right option so when you have a.mac account don't type my_name@mac at the AOL instand messenger. Or vice versa :)

Then because you use a mac ( :) ) just push in your USB connector, for those who have a new iMac G5 with a build-in-iSight they don't have to do a thing. Then just add all these names in your list and ask me to add yours to the list. If you do add all the names yourself it would be more easy because those who were faster then you they don't have to check the list regulary to find out if there are any new names on it.

Google it. It's not that hard.

I just use my AIM client and use my sony vid camera connected via firewire. Linux users can use Gyach Enhanced/pYvoice.

It's ThinkTanks445, however, parents say I can't do voice or video. However, I was able to do video and voice with a friend that had IChat on his mactop.

Google now has chat... google talk

Ugh..lets just stick to one......theres getting too many! Lol iChat will do fine :P

Trillian messenger service is free and lets you chat with several chat systems all at the same time.
If you don't want to install yet another instant messenger client on your system, then I would highly recommend Trillian which will allow you to communicate with buddies on not only Yahoo, but also AOL, MSN, ICQ and even IRC! Best of all, the basic client is FREE!

^^ shame that it only works on windows..

Gaim is best... Does more networks than Trilly and availible on Win and Linux.

Looks great...downloaded it, started to sign in on all of my accounts then poof its gone! Started it up again...but would quit straight away. So I deleted it and downloaded again but still quit as soon as it opened!? Any help!?
